Good morning, you championship handicappers! I sent another $75 toward our BC PK6 effort. I'll be in the dentist chair for the next couple hours, but by afternoon, I'll be back online. 🎃🐴

I am sending in another $50. Why not. I have been a PK 6 freak forever. Easier than hitting the lottery.

Thanks Bev,
I've actually been too busy to even look at the races and won't be allowed to wager as I'll be in Austin for my 40th college reunion (TX doesn't allow account wagering and I don't want to set up a spoof account).
So I have no opinions on the races, however, I am very knowledgeable using the Steve Crist ABC method of ticket construction and am happy to run it through my software if the group chooses to go that route. However, since it's the BC, it's likely ok to just submit a caveman ticket and if there is some extra cash lying around, then you could always come up with a small ABC ticket.

I get it as to how hard it is to hit a p6--I have hit 6-8 of them--almost all by myself, and pretty much always with one big ticket(can't remember ever hitting one where I played multiple tix). The goal is to have all 6 winners regardless---the cost must be weighed vs the potential return.
Singling FLIGHTLINE, going light in the Distaff, and spreading in the other four legs will be a very common approach. If Euro low-odds runners sweep(or win 2 of 3) turf events, we can hit this and still lose $$$. If FLIGHTLINE wins, we will need at least one serious upset of the Out of Australia level.
I am in with the team approach---good luck to us---doesnt seem like much handicapping will be involved---more mathematical ticket construction. + an opportunityfor me to play against FIGHTLINE in a p3 or p4, and free to play bomb tris/exactas throughout.
Big thanx to Bev for common sense holding this thing together--hope to see/meet some of you down there!
Also--my family lives in southern Texas--very familiar with the wagering restrictions unfortunately.

Once the draw is made this afternoon we will have a much better idea about ticket construction. The early races will probably be the ones where we have to go deep and hope to hit a bomb .

I would not worry at all about hitting this wager and losing money. First, it's so hard to hit that we should be thrilled if we even hit it. Second, there is a risk that it's chalky and we lose money, but that risk is very slight due to the full fields and often shocking results in at least one BC race.
But more importantly - that's just a risk of making wagers like this. Should you play an average pick six on a Saturday at Toga or Del Mar where you have no unique angle, there is no carryover and you're likely going to single the same horses as 90% of the other bettors? Of course not - you have to have an angle or you shouldn't be playing it.
However, playing a pick 5 or pick 6 on big racing days like a TC day or the BC is completely different because the pools are so enlarged. That always gives you the built in opportunity to hit a huge payoff and taking the risk that you will win and still lose money is an acceptable risk.
I can't tell you how many pick 5's I have put 3k+ into and lost money, but the occasional monster payoffs more than make up for those occasions and I just look at it as a cost of playing the game at the higher level.
Also, aside from the risk of loss, you have to balance out the rush from just being live to some huge payoffs in the last leg and that never will happen unless you put the chips in the center.
Ideally, whoever puts this ticket together will land a few moderate to high-priced horses and we'll be alive to Flightline for a decent payoff, however, even if it's pure chalk in the 6 legs (highly unlikely) and we're live to half the value of the cost of the ticket, that's still not the end of the world and probably worth the price of admission to the wager.

Dan - fwiw, "people I have talked to" have been able to use their regular ADW's in non-approved states, just by using the web browser based version of the ADW site. App's seem to get geo located and blocked, but the web versions do not.

Interesting, I did try that in TX over the summer and couldn't use it w/ my laptop, but I can try again. The work around w/ spoofing is not so hard either, but I just figured with my lack of preparation that it was a sign to pass this year:)
That's one reason the UIC pick six will work well, I'll still have some action, but can just sit back, relax and watch.

$2,650.00 just sent to Bev via Venmo.
By the way, my class action lawsuit against Baffert for Medina Spirit's DQ is still pending. We're waiting on a Federal Judge in NJ to rule on jurisdictional grounds.
Wouldn't it be ironic if we hit the wager thanks to a Baffert win or wins? I guess I could personally thank his lawyers the next time I see them in Court.

So if my math is correct, a pot of $5450 equates to 218 $25 shares? Does anyone have an idea how the final ticket is getting to all the players? Just posting it here or will it be emailed to just the participants?

If we win the case against Baffert, it would include everyone who can prove they lost money due to Medina Spirit winning the race instead of Mandaloun. You will just need proof of your losses.

Couldn't it be argued that the entire race was altered due to the overage, and any wager (either Mandaloun or otherwise)be refunded ? (Pace, tactics altered )
