T O Password, despite very little racing foundation, from a pedigree perspective, has a better profile with Sunday Silence and KING KAMEHAMEHA BMS. Not that that means a whole lot. I am a huge fan of the Japanese horses, but UAE tends to not reproduce efforts here unless the horse has a "very american dirt" type running style.
So right now I am not (yet) a Forever Young fan.
I'm not a fan of anyone yet without seeing how they do at CDX and until post positions are assigned anyway. Even then, I have never picked the correct KY Derby winner until I saw their behavior in the post parade. People don't have good etiquette around horses, yelling, cheering, waving things around....TBs are sensitive animals.
I did everything but beg friends not to put $ on the Mott horse in AR because I saw him having an anxiety attack in the paddocks that day. It's very loud and echo=chamber like in there and he left his race in the paddock that day. Yet went off as the favorite or 2nd favorite. Took a lot of money. I really tried.
Look for the confident horse who has poise.

your posts remind me of the ole "pedigree ann" ringabell?
I think this gives an accurate take on Forever Young:
Forever Young clocked 1:57.89, about an average time for the U.A.E. Derby, but did turn in a strong 24-second final 400 meters. That not only topped the U.A.E. Derby but was faster than any final 400 meters in the 2,000-meter Dubai World Cup.
The Timeform Rating for the race came up a 107, or roughly a low-90s Beyer Speed Figure.
“I’d say we’ll rate him an average winner of the race but with the probability that he hasn’t yet shown all he can do,” Mark Milligan, a Timeform handicapper in England, said Sunday. “I suspect he’s the sort of horse who just wins without being flashy and could well raise his game further against stronger opposition.”
The Courier-Journal reported on Twitter Monday morning that trainer Christophe Clement is "unlikely" to enter G3 Gotham Stakes winner Deterministic in the Run for the Roses, following that colt's eighth-place finish in the G2 Wood Memorial.
Date: April 20, 2024 Track: CHURCHILL DOWNS Distance: Five Furlongs Time: 59:40 Breezing Track Condition: Fast Surface: Dirt Rank: 1/67
Seriously... why don't you like him? It's the distance, isn't it? What do you think? Tell me.
Dell I hope he wins by five going away (for you)...but you asked "what do you think? tell me " I think he got outworked by the stable mate. (Northern Flame)
Thank you for the responses... I agree with you, merasmag, it's not a great name. eye123, I appreciate the hope on my behalf 5 lengths would be perfectly fine with me. Here's a better look at that workout... I see "gears" and ease of movement. But that's me.
I'm predicting the 'Horse Whisperer' will identify MD as an alpha type among the herd. I also predict grommet will hate the name in his eagerly anticipated KD Name Analysis.
In position to have the best Kentucky Derby of my career... Let's keep them all healthy!

What's wrong with the name? People have Dan's in their life they don't like. Did people not like Wise Dan? Mystik conjures up mysterious or mystical- I like it.
What’s Mr Bill Mott up to??. Missed training and races with 2YO champ Just FY early so able to get in with a runner-up effort in her seasonal debut in the Ashland without the easiest of trips. Gives her an easy breeze Thursday then brings her right back today going 5f with a very energetic gallop out of a mile. I believe Mr Mott may think he has the goods…..
Apparently same MO with Resilience after the 9am renovation break.
Ozzy, if you're on track, would be cool if you could take some "behind the scenes' videos (barn area, workouts, etc) A sort of UIC at the track first hand account of the lead up to Oaks,Derby days.
Heard this morning that Leslie's Rose has missed a work and Oaks status is very much in question.
LESLIE’S ROSE – Trainer Todd Pletcher’s trio of Kentucky Oaks hopefuls, who arrived at Churchill Downs on Sunday, all had mile gallops Monday morning during the 7:30- 7:45 training window for Kentucky Derby and Oaks horses. Whisper Hill Farm’s Leslie’s Rose, winner of the Ashland (GI) in her most recent start, was partnered by Joel Osorio. Fawzi Abdulla Nass’ Manama Gold, winner of the UAE Oaks (GIII) and currently 15th on the list of Oaks possibles in a field limited to 14 starters, was ridden by Carlos Quevedo. www.kentuckyderby.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2024/04/20240422-Ky-Derby-Updates.pdf
Hoop, I was about to chime in on that as well. Some loud mouth on X was very loudly and publicly questioning was going on with Leslie’s Rose this morning but I believe she had been training at Keeneland if I am not mistaken, just no timed breezes. She was on the track this am. Sometimes he just needs to not type things…. Now I am hearing Encino may bypass the Derby and wait for the Preakness. Same loudmouth also reported on X but also heard from a more reputable source so wait and see at this point.
Eye - typically I make several morning appearances on the backside during the lead up to the Oaks/Derby, however, having to be onsite for CD starting Opening Night this year and there daily through Derby, I doubt that will happen. Which is a bummer as nothing I love more than backside buzz Derby week. We’ll see however, but I’ll certainly be on track and seeing horses school, etc but trying to balance my typically duties and responsibilities with work and family with the ones from Churchill this year is a challenge. I always try to get some photos to Del to post over the week for sure.
Sorry, I heard it on Byk's show this morning- I think from Kevin Kerstein. I hope she is fine, especially since I have an Oaks future on her. It was also mentioned on the same show that Encino still not certain. Was KK the person on X?
Thanks Ozzy, always appreciate seeing the photos when Dell puts them up. Fully understand the workload, family balance side. (getting greedy in my old age even asking...love the behind the scenes stuff....just as interesting as the runners, front side reporting)
