I’m part of a security detail on the front side for humans and horses. Bottom line, I am paid to be there, instead of paying to attend so being of sound and sober mind/ability is expected. Small price to pay I suppose for the access I am able to enjoy.

What’s Mr Bill Mott up to??. Missed training and races with 2YO champ Just FY early so able to get in with a runner-up effort in her seasonal debut in the Ashland without the easiest of trips. Gives her an easy breeze Thursday then brings her right back today going 5f with a very energetic gallop out of a mile. I believe Mr Mott may think he has the goods….. Apparently same MO with Resilience after the 9am renovation break.
"I wouldn't trade any horse for (Resilience), to be honest," Alvarado said. "The way he worked today he gave me the feeling that, as a jockey, you always want."
"She was very in-hand today," Alvarado said. "As smooth as you can work a horse. I think the workout was one of the best works I ever had on a horse."

How can 3 old rubes in the infield find you and say hello? Lure, in former days it would be no problem. With today’s CD, I am not sure folks from the infield can gain access to the front side and paddock area. This year will be a whole new world… |

Encino is out of the KY Derby. No reason yet but will update when I know more. Brad Cox said Encino, who galloped first thing Tuesday morning, was off while cooling out. Sent to Dr. Bramlage in Lex and was diagnosed with a soft tissue strain that will require 30 days off. "Little bit of time and rest and treatment and hopefully he'll be fine," Cox said.
