Last three Fridays I’ve gotten a growler from a local place trying to do some business during lockdown. They’re doing $10 growler fills of anything they have on tap. First week I got an IPA with a BA rating of 99 (Surly The Axeman). Didn’t get one tonight and drinking up a few loose cans/bottles waiting on the spinach artichoke dip to finish. Currently wrapping up a Mad Elf. Next up is either a Blithering Idiot (how appropriate) or an Old Rasputin. Will likely throttle down to some left over Oktoberfest, if the others don’t knock me out first. So UIC, watcha drinking tonight?
Add: that was quick and Blithering Idiot it is. Gonna have to save the Raspy for tomorrow or later, even though it’s definitely stout weather here in Western Pa tonight.

Man, without even looking it up, it looks good. Might do the growler thing tomorrow.

Almost done with the Victory Festbier. Not a bad Octoberfest, but it’s beyond it’s season. Time to drink it up. In search of some notable ones this weekend. However, recalled that I have a few special stash types, a couple Rocheforts and a World Wide Stout. They’ve been aging for a long time and should probably be consumed soon. C’mon UIC, share your beers this weekend.

Got one of those Growler fills tonight. Local brews, a collaboration between Rivertowne brewing and a local coffee roaster for Rivertowne Zeke’s Coffee Brown. Nice beer. I like coffee beers.

I’m jealous. 99 Beer Advocate score. I’m pretty low. Although I’ve largely confined myself to Fri-Sat nights, Might look for something tomorrow. Finishing the growler tonight.

Tonight/tomorrow, from Maine Beer Company, Lunch. Got a 97 score on BA and lives up to it. $10 for a growler.

The Maine Lunch showed up on their website early in the week and I hoped it’d be still available tonight. Went earlier tonight than I had been going and they said it was almost kicked. Got lucky.

crazy Derby party yesterday afternoon high octane juleps crushed a few, esp when followed up with seriously high end Cabernets fortunately I misplaced my julep glass early on everyone had their own year Derby glass, documented to keep others from drinking someone else's socially distance, of course!

Picked up a Southern Tier variety pack and the Firestone Walker (mentioned in the cheap beer thread) today. Alternating. The milk stout is nice on a May night where we might hit the 20s tonight.

Nobody posting here in awhile. Tonight's brew is Six Point Hootie, a hazy IPA that has gotten a Beer Advocate score of 88. A local distributor had a sale on this and, with tax, it came to $20 for a case. Very nice deal (I went back the next day and grabbed another). Prior to that I got a great deal on Victory Summer Love, which is indeed a nice summer beer that if you don't love you'll probably at least like a fair amount.

Haven't had any Harpoons in a while, but I liked them in the past, including the UFO. Nice summer beer. Speaking of which, the Southern Tier 8 Days a Week is a really nice, drinkable summer beer.
