Longtime UIC member, and frequent contest player, Arsignman (Richard Stamper) passed away on June 1st. He was passionate about racing, enjoyed interacting here, and was particularly found of Saratoga. I was alerted to his passing by UIC member bitowisdom, who was a friend and contest partner of Richard. Our condolences to his family and friends. As bitowisdom reminded me, "UpinClass is just that, and I am sure that members just don't want to see people just disappear" without an acknowledgement.
I'd like to create a Saratoga contest prize category in Richard's memory. What are some ideas, players? (Most winners $20+; Most winners?) Something relatively easy to keep track of for the scorer.
RIP Mr. Stamper.

Sad news. Loved our contests and others. From the Town Square thread a few years ago....
My name is Richard alias arsignman from Arkansas where I have lived 53 years. The first track I went to was OAKLAWN PARK back when I was in college and have been hooked on the horses since. I've been fortunate to see many great horses and jockeys in my time at different tracks. Tracks Oaklawn and Saratoga, Keeneland are my favorites also been to Churchill Downs, Ellis Park, Blue Ribbon Downs, La. Downs, Will Rogers, Remington Park, Lone StarPark Horses Big Red, Alydar, Seattles Slew, Spectacular Bid, John Henry, Lure and many more Jockeys Pat Day, Shoemaker, John Valasquez, Trainers Woody Stephens,Charlie Whittingham, Chad Brown,
Biggest win was the Breeders Cup 2014 Work all Week Secret Circle Private Zone $2129.40 and Kentucky Derby 2008 Big Brown Eight Belles Denis of Cork $6891.20

Sad news indeed …..sending good thoughts that his family finds warm memories healing to their hearts…. I agree about people “disappearing “ without acknowledgment….. I don’t know many of the players here but try to keep track of the ones I do…. and if haven’t seen or heard from them in a while I try to reach out and hope to get a response…..

When ever some announces the death of anyone you were connected with it reminds us that we're all on the same train but we don't know where our stop is until we get to it. So lets all go to the club car and drink one in honor to Richard.
