in the doctor's office. I love to read, even read cereal boxes as a kid. Everyone else is on their phones, but I am reading the mags, since I don't buy them. So this Travel Magazine is obviously written for the "well-heeled"....(the well-heeled, and then some.) We are not talking about just reasonably well off with some discretionary income set aside for fun and recreation). I got to be whisked away from my normal person's life while reading it which is fine with me. It had a feature article about the Aman New York. Apparently they have properties all over the place. Entry level suites start at around $3,400. But you can't just book a suite. You have to have a *membership* to the Aman Club. That is $15,000 a year in dues. ( For which there is a WAITING LIST, by the way. ) Without a membership, you can pay $200,000 admission, then book a room. The one in New York, is in the old Crown Building. Which was once the highest bldg. in New York before the Empire State and other bldgs that came after it were built. It once also housed the first iteration of the Museum of Modern Art. It's a gorgeous peaceful place, designed beautifully, and of course, well-appointed in every way. With a 7,000 sq ft terrace overlooking 57th and Fifth. at the top floors there are a few residences. You could have bought one back in 2018 for the bargain price of $180 million. I mean, if you wanted a *good deal of a steal* Anyway, it was fun reading, before the reality of having the nurse stick a needle in the crook of my arm brought me back to earth.
