I thought that was a neat photo, I had been watching The Band and some old music videos and that haircut just reminded me so much of a certain era. So I google lens-ed it and found the article for it. www.thoroughbredracing.com/articles/2385/trevor-denman-magic-zenyatta-race-calling-and-how-america-has-lost-touch-horse-care/Class act. He was so ahead of the way the thinking was when he came here. I did not know Denman had racehorses in South Africa. He was really advocating for more humane horse care back in 2015: " I can speak first hand of England and South Africa. I own two racehorses in South Africa. If they just looked at you funny, they’d be scratched. One kicked the stall once, and he was off for three months with just a little bruising...." He couldn't believe in 1985 there was no horse retirement programs.......he really was in the vanguard of a way of thinking And also what he said about how sad it is turning horse racing into " ‘what figure does he have?" Many of us think that way. We want to know who the horse is.... I love the way Kerry Thomas has come along to tell us about emotional/psychological conformation, not just physical, and the will to win is in the head of many of them, etc. (he's the reason I had I'll Have Another and Animal Kingdom, so paid me to listen up. ) Also did not know Denman was a huge (VERY huge! ) Zenyatta fan. The reason he's a class act is because of the way he thinks and it shows in his race calling.
