Here's a handicapping thought for royal ascot, lets see how I do.

Keeping an eye on the oufit based in Quatar.   Last year they won the Gold Cup G1 and the Queens Vase..  but I expect they will have even more winners this year.   You will have plenty to choose from.

I dont have list of who they own or bought but i see they just bought First Look and Haatem.

Taking a look today at some of the runners as won't have much time in my schedule next week on the weekdays

Highest quality meet, very competitive, and  a lot to take in.  Many races horses from 3-4 different major nations.

What is difficult is many of the horses, esp. ones I like, can  be very ground dependent, so waiting til last minute on weather and turf condition is challenging.

He hosted the first annual Royal Ascot preview show yesterday, with guests including trainers John Gosden, Charlie Fellowes, and George Scott. Very informative concerning runners next week. It was also a lot of fun, as the gents were enjoying some beverages while they chatted. Like you and your friends sitting around handicapping the cards, only they have runners in many of the races. An hour well spent for me.

Thanks, 10F.  I will take your advice and give a listen. 

As of today I only have one horse while waiting for fields to be set, as some horses were cross entered and also need to see the weather each day.   But the one I do like and/or will root for is  Vauban.  (He doesn't have to win this as I do want to see him in the Melbourne Cup, so as long as he is staying in condition I"m happy).  I think  Mullins will have him right.   Going to be hard against the Gosden and O'Brien horses in this Gold Cup but I really like him.  Also like his horse in the Copper Horse but that one is going to be chalky I think (Belloccio)


Sure do miss Stradivarius, he was always a staple at this meet....and seems like yesterday, again, time goes by quickly.

I listened to it after smoking a dube, woke up Sunday morning and noticed my William Hill balance was lower than it should be. Apparently, I made a bunch of bets that I don't remember. We'll see how they pan out. Gosden is a blast. "Well my 2yrs olds were very slow."

I was looking over horses that The Royal Stud has (HM The King & HM The Queen). (I was looking for them in honor of the Queen.....I miss her presence at these races, she sure did love horse racing!).

See anybody in there at all? I think there are a few on Thursday's card. I didn't look over every card carefully yet though.
