Treading lightly on Day One, with any real wagering targeting races 5,6 & 10. Things noted while scanning the entries: Race 1- Interesting that Flavien Prat takes the mount for Schettino on FTL, FTG #2- Mighty Glory (8-1). I'm looking at #5- Drunk On Sake (8-1) which folded quickly in the mud on debut, now goes two-turns on the proper surface with a best-of-123 bullet over the BEL tr.t in tow. Race 3- #2- Caldo Candy (3-1) is a homebred from local area Avanti Stable and trainer H. James Bond. Looks to be sitting on a win after well-clear-of-the-rest second behind Cox runner Quick To Accuse, which just won again to use up his NYB conditions and is entered in an open N1X on Belmont day. Race 4- Good to see undefeated #4- Manama Gold (6-1) entered here for Bahraini-owned Victorious Racing. Now under the care of Todd Pletcher, the Star Guitar (LA-bred) filly won the UAE Oaks at Meydan last out for trainer Fawzi Nass. Pletcher usually needs a start or two with shipper to the States, and the drop back to a sprint suggests this is more of a shakedown cruise than an assault, with a gaggle of early-speed types signed on. Race 5- Hope that #11- Cerretta (6-1) gets to run on grass, Frankie Dettori takes the mount for Bond homebred trained by one of Jimmy's sons, Kevin. And, yes, Cerretta is an Italian red wine . www.drf.com/news/sons-james-bond-starting-their-own-training-careersjamesbondracing.com/meet-the-teamRace 6- I like everything about #8- Park Avenue Betty (12-1) for John Kimmel. Part-owner Imperio pinhooked this Street Sense filly for $160K at OBS but stayed in for a piece. Kendrick aboard from an outside draw going 7F. Workouts like clockwork since March. Excited to see this one run. Race 8- Dettori is on the first AE #13- Charles J (6-1) and it's a wide open NYB MSW. Hope we're still on turf by then. Race 10- #12- Siskany (even) drew the PP12 just to make it fair. Hope the field stays intact. TRI- 12/1,5,11/1,4,5,6,9,11 TW

I always say I am "snake bit" at Saratoga. In race 2 I played 1, WT, 7, WT, 6, WT, 8 And 1, 7, WT, 1, 7, WT, 2, 3, 8, WT, 2, 3
And the #5 got me. The #1 did win.
Not redboarding since I did not get it right. I should have just bet #1 to win, but I as not sure about that one. Mad at myself as it paid $29.80
Like 5wide, I am also just watching, may play 1 or 2 more races just for fun though to see if I can even get ONE right.

5 minutes to post for the Jersey Girl....and doesn't this look like the next version of an odds on Churchill runner that loses at Saratoga to a MidAtlantic beast? Grey Lightning all the way for me here. -------------------------------------- After the race....wow, that Rocket from CD was freaky fast. Test is going to be tough for anyone else with her in the field.

Really. Snake bit. For R8: I played 2 superfectas for 0.10. BX, 3, 6, 7, 9 and BX, 3, 7, 9, 11 Came in 3,9,5,7 and paid over $1,000. This is my life at SAR. Missing stuff by 1 number.
