McPeek said Mystik Dan “left three quarts of feed” Saturday night. “If he’s not in the feed tub, he won’t run and he ran hard yesterday, but we’ll see,” McPeek said.

Haven't heard any KD entrant commit to the Preakness. The jock was hopeful for T O Password though.

McPeek this week.
“The fact that we've removed Lasix from the conversation makes it an even better test. Horses recover quicker without the Lasix. Lasix was a detriment. I know there are guys that will hear me say that and scream, 'I need Lasix.' No, you don't need Lasix. Maybe there are certain horses that do and, yes, we do have bleeders. But they shouldn't be the ones running in the Grade I, Grade II, Grade III races. The two weeks is easier without the Lasix because the Lasix would dehydrate a horse and then you'd have to recoup that fluid within the two weeks.

McPeek is wonderfully open and plainspoken about the game.

I was watching interview with mcpeek and when he was saying horses don't need lasix, and seemed like he had to say it almost apologetically. Sad to see that, like the room goes quiet for a split second when that opinion is uttered. (Just like the early water, hay, oats signers had to almost hide in the shadows lest they be villanized by their fellow horsemen.)
Bleeders need lasix. Bleeders shouldnt be on the racetack though if all forms of conservative management has been applied, including time off for the mgmt and healing... and they are still chronic high level bleeders.
This is why the HK model works...not all horses are "meant" for a career in racing. Not sure why this concept is so hard to swallow in the U.S.
Forcing it is defying and denying what what is. Just like every tall person shouldnt be a basketball player.

The level of training excellence exhibted, given their travel, qurantine, and unfamiliarity with the track, shined through like a high-tech robust flashlight. Much respect to the connections from me.

I don't understand why Pletcher isn't sending Tuscan Sky. My preferred Tuscan horse, he'll win next out wherever he runs.
Very happy to see the Kentucky Derby winner going in the Preakness.

Isnt it supposed to be quite wet at pimlico all week?
Odd to not see Asmussen horse in this, as they usual run ITM in this race.

Not shocked that the baffert horse came down with a fever. Why not? Remember when Baffy shipped Muth to Saratoga for The Hopeful and then scratched? Not just a coincidence.

What am I missing here? What's he gain by scratching the horse twice with a fever?

Hmmm. Why'd they bother sending Muth to Pimlico then? He could've come down with a faux fever in his stall at Santa Anita.
