Looking at the pur$e value, and list of past winners, I'm wondering why this isn't a Grade I race? Did the GSC get mad when Quip won and downgrade it ? I like Red Route One, but wonder if he'll have a pace to finish into, especially if Skippy doesn't go forward with Octane. I'll go with the rail horse Highland Falls, he's got a lot of progression left in him with only five starts, and can save all the ground. He might be fourth choice at 5-1 or so. His mom, the great Round Pond, liked it here (7//5-0-2). TW

Great betting race. Steve A put a gate work into Magical Tap 6 days ago, expecting him to be involved up front for an honest pace. On the board at 10-1 saving ground on the turns. Prefer a different jock though.

TW Yeah I've never understood the way OP gets dissed in Gradings. If this race was at Santa Anita and the purse was only $400,000 and only had 5 entries, it would be a Grade I.

Xpressbet put 10 bucks into my account, so I'm dabbling with $2 Show plays... kicked off with #8 Defining Joy SHOW $8.60 Just caught Mighty Message (winner) SHOW $6.20 In the next race R9, I have #6 Gould's Gold. $3.80
Octane is my pick in the Oaklawn Handicap.
