Nysos (Nyquist), the top-ranked horse in the NTRA's poll of top three-year-olds, will miss one month of training after a `minor' setback, said the colt's trainer, Bob Baffert, by text Tuesday afternoon. “(Nysos) will be out of training,” Baffert texted. “Tack-walking for 30 days. No plans.” Asked exactly what the setback was, Baffert replied, “minor.” www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/nysos-to-miss-one-month-of-training-after-minor-setback/

I guess the grumblings we both heard of a potential truce between Baffert and CD was nothing more than chatter.
Would have to think this knocks him out of Preakness consideration as well. Figured something was up when he hadn’t worked in several weeks.

Back door chatter. Representatives of each.
Sounds like a ligament to me. Probably from his last work.

Something up as horse worked like clockwork and then nothing since 2/25…. Can’t get workout history picture to post but not hard to find and review.

Nysos was scratched from the San Felipe supposedly because Baffert changed his mind and decided to run him in the Santa Anita Derby.
Of course, I don't know anyoone who actually listens to "trainer speak" anyway.
Seeing no public works since Feb 25 you had to think something was up. According to Baffert "something minor".
So seems he will miss the Santa Anita Derby if you count out the days.

Preakness out now as well. Doesn't seem to be "minor" at this point.
John Cherwa
Trainer Bob Baffert confirmed to The Times that 3-year-old phenom Nysos will not be ready in time for the Preakness. He should resume training in a couple weeks.

I don't know why anyone listens, when Baffert speaks only excuses or half truths tumble out. He makes it up as he goes along, sort of like how he explains how his horses get contaminated.
This is basically what the head of CDI noted, that he refuses to take responsiblity for stuff that happens and always has an excuse at the ready......... and therefore they believe those things will just "keep happening".
We all have known someone like that in our long lives though. And perhaps the CDI guy knows a little about psychology. With Balffert it seems "habitual" and almost as if being straightforward would crush some part of his psyche .

How nice them to scratch him right after the Preakness futures closed.
Nysos closed as the 5-2 favorite in the Preakness futures.
I wonder how many bettors were fleeced.
As it turns out the reason for the scratch seems like it wasn't the actual (true) reason.

u could have hit the nail on the head there was a girl in our high school "friends group" who was a HABITUAL, INCESSANT liar you LITERALLY could NOT believe a SINGLE word that came out of her mouth EVER (except when she explained to me that pool was all about geometry, but she got that from her older boyfriend/fiance/husband) I don't remember it ever causing real damage tho, i guess because everybody knew?
