Seems they are trying to prevent the catastrophic injury with more oversight. I support those initiatives.

Oaklawn has ALWAYS been willing to be on the forefront to test stuff out.
A few years ago they gave an extra 10% to horsemen in 2 year old races who did not use lasix.
For many years Mr Cella was 100% against computer robotic wagering teams and was very serious about not allowing them into pools there, as he belieeve they were detrimental to everyone. I rarely saw people bringing that up, but there were no CRT in the pools there. They had a decision to make and they made it.
Now they have agreed not only too be one of the volunteers to set aside a special area for injections, but are adding a tweak that veterinarian studies have shown are a major and suspected cause of breakdowns, by requiring a radiograp. More oversight, less chance of needles being snuck into barns, and putting the horse first.
How anyone can fault these kinds of initiatves I truly do not understand. The future of U.S. racing depends on transparency going forward. So does racing PR.
We don't need more *preventable breakdowns*, do we?
Or should we just not bother "because these things happen in horse racing" ?

i have nothing against oaklawn u could look back over 20 years of posts under my name and knot find more than 5 bad words. i would actually like to go there one day and hang with NO POLITICS
i see nothing about a "special area" knot that that would matter to cheaters
and if you have had as many imaging tests as i've had (and i imagine sum others here) you would surely understand they can be interpreted differently by different vets
i stand by my comment and if i didn't have an irrational fear of dogs i shooda been a vet bcuz they will be making bank
