How many years will it be before we can hold the most important U.S. G1 race of the year in a manner that is not like an episode of Jerry Springer, with everyone acting/speaking in a way that should be recognized as "embarassing", and where the humans insert themselves as "the story" instead of the horses?

I know with the advent of social media, etc. many seem to have lost their way.....but when do you think simple dignity and professionalism will emerge again?  I hope the adults in the room of horse racing will eventually appear, front and center, because all the "entitlement/posturing" is starting to get to me.

Self control used to be considered an important "adult milestone", didn't it?

The statement from Churchill was nothing but poor form. All parties should be embarrassed and sent to the corner wearing a dunce cap to consider their actions. Childish behavior which does nothing to promote the greatest race. You can certainly tell horsemen no longer are in charge at CDI…. I can’t imagine what my friend John Asher must be thinking about an event he adored so much.

A judge of the Kentucky Court of Appeals denied an emergency motion to allow Arkansas Derby (G1) winner Muth into the Kentucky Derby (G1) in an order described on the court's online docket after regular office hours April 24.

On its face, that would be totally unfair and unjust for CDI and the other owners who have complied with CDI rules for entry of horses into the Kentucky Derby. ... Since Baffert is not before this court to contest his suspension and is otherwise an indispensable party to this action, we decline to grant the requested extraordinary emergency relief.

I may be uninformed, naive or whatever but to me If they were talking in December about this and got nowhere then it appears a scheme was hatched to circumvent the process by going to a last minute lawsuit since so many times in this country tactics such as these play out favorably. If that is correct then it is possible/probable? BB was part of the think tank that developed the plan - as well as other owners who didn’t transfer their horses to other trainers? Quite possibly this was always the plan since then and they just needed someone to have the requisite performance to make them eligible sans suspension.
