I’m going with $5 on each of these
#2 Bentornato 30/1 #5 Booth 50/1 #21 Merit 99/1 #31 Sierra Leone 80/1
Only going with horses that have worked recently.
I figure that if you are not showing any November works then there might be a problem .

Goldencents, 2013 Sham Stakes, Santa Anita Derby winner & Kevin Krigger Interesting that Goldencents (Into Mischief) is not represented in the Sire Pool. McPeek has won everything except the Kentucky Derby... is that right? I'm on 🐴#23 MYSTIK DAN (Goldencents)

Thanks Dell looks like the Sire bet on Mitole at 80-1 is better value for me as Booth is only 50-1 and I get Carbone 80-1 for free !

Was tempted to do sire Vino Rosso, I loved him, but decided on Classic Empire (72-1), despite he disappointed me in 2022 when I thought would hit. And Street Sense (57-1). Edit: added Gun Runner and Constitution before pool closed. But I love looking at the odds and how people seem to pick many because of trainer. Sometimes that works. Then you see the horses who maybe the trainer doesn't know much about pedigree of the horse, like LIBERAL ARTS----- strikes me as a late developer like Hopportunity who I would consider as a 4 year old ---- yet owenrship seems to be using him up already --- 5 races as a 2 year old. So, that one won't make my list. One I like so far is Merit. (99-1) If you look thru 20+ or so years of KY Derby races, plenty of RAN/NAS sirelines win or place in the KY Derby. (I use pedigree more in the Belmont, since KY Derby is really more of a chaos race, but it doesn't hurt to look over the first few generations in their lines). Also like Otto the Conqueror (99-1). Lightline (99-1). Risk It (69-1). Stolen Magic (99-1), Copper Tax (88-1)(won't be many more of these w/Royal Charger in the pedigree, I was pretty sad when Brilliant Speed got struck by lightning and ArchArchArch broke down in the KY Derby ) I will add Mystik Dan (72-1) but looks like miler material. So will look for a few more......will come back to this later. Not sure I see derby winners here yet but prep race winners galore. One other horse stood out to me for playing in the stakes races at Oaklawn. (my home track!). Based on what I see in him, I would be using Dornoch liberally there if he comes, which I'm sure he will. I doubt I would use him win KY Derb though. Perfect for oaklawn though.

McPeek has won everything except the Kentucky Derby... is that right? I'm on 🐴#23 MYSTIK DANyou and I often pick the same longshots. Into The Mystic is also one of my favorite van morrison songs. So I had to include. Good luck to us. I'm not sure about McPeek. IMHO he tends to over-race them while trying to figure them out. He needs to figure them out sooner. How he handled Classic Causeway really upset me, but this seems like something he does quite often. I have little confidence in him anymore but he does well in the prep races.

It sure how much money is in the pool but Bentornato is currently only 8-1 😳 27-1 here, but about 5th or 6th lowest odds right now Lowest odds looking right now is Fierceness, Locked, Knightsbridge, Nash, and of course ALL OTHERS. I wanted to use Locked because I like him a lot (thought he might be in my top 5 derby horses) but no-can-do any horse under 20-1 in a future pool, esp. not one this early.

He was not listed on the Coolmore roster and I’ve heard Japan, but can’t confirm. I’ve also heard Korea which comes from a more credible source but no official announcement….

Didn’t play but wish that I would have Maybe LOCKED @ 30-1 And really like an unlisted 2yo PIRATE Months ago he was going to be my "derby horse" but then i saw pletcher, and this one started early and not sure I can trust he will be brought along patiently and then peak at correct time in May So I will sit on him for a whille.

Dunno. but thanks for the heads up. i had a feeling about him so I just put in a small wager. I thought his progeny would hit in 2022 but they did not.
