The Breeders' Cup, one of Thoroughbred horse racing's most prestigious international events, announced Nov. 8 that Del Mar Thoroughbred Club will host back-to-back Breeders' Cup World Championships in 2024-25. Located on the edge of the Pacific Ocean in San Diego County, Del Mar—"Where the turf meets the surf"—is set to serve as a Breeders' Cup host site for a fourth time after also hosting in 2017, 2021, and having been announced previously as the host in 2024. Has not been a BC on the east coast since 2007 Monmouth.
Had fun at the ones held at Monmouth, Belmont, Woodbine and Gulfstream over the years. Churchill was ok also, great seats through a breeding farm.
Way too much west coast.

On the Nick Luck podcast this morning Jay Privman said that Churchill Downs was slated to get the BC in 2025 but told the BC that they would not accept runners from Baffert and the BC would not go along with this so Del Mar was the only alternative.

Anyone remember when the Breeders Cup first started out...the idea was to bring the best horses together at different racetracks around the country. NY,Calif,FL,Kentucky...with a track not in that rotation thrown in. California ,Kentucky rotation has that antiseptic feel. No surprises at where it will take place. Ho Hum as to the venue.

but yeah... and the 23 members of the Grand Jury in New York.
AND the 12 Manhattan Jurors who voted unanimously to convict.
Not to mention all the evidence & witnesses. Totally unfair. RIGGED.
Baffert is totally innocent. FREE BOB BAFFERT! FREE BOB BAFFERT!

If BC will be held at Delmar, I am COUNTING on ya'll to teach me about how that track plays, and all the subtleties. I may not have time to learn all that for 2024, which is why I plan on playing The Melbourne Cup instead. I do not plunk down $$ at tracks I do not know or play. Anyway, yes, this is a "cry for help"   ...okay with me if baffert runs at delmar...i can skip those races just like I have always done with Diodoro at oaklawn, or find a race where trainers i dont like don't have the horse others think they do. The beauty of the parimutuel system. |

I figure if in CALIF, less ship distance for the Japanese horses... also bring on any aussies, NZ, Dubai, canadian, SAF, France, or whoever elsle wants to show up. All the Euros too of course. Bring em all i say. Loved when the globetrotter guys like South Africa trainer Mike de Kock came to ky derby with Mubtaahij. Was fascinating and i learned so much. I loved "Mub" quite a bit. Lani with his pink boots, etc. Lets go!!!! |

delmar = keeneland
this has varied with the tinkering of surface changes
but has leveled off to a measure of certainty (4me)

You have to chart the tide levels at DelMar.Turf gets softer during high tide.
