Definitely anticipating some moisture in the turf course!

Rain was late moving in and only a light drizzle when I left around 4pm. Not sure really what it has done since but heaviest rain expected overnight into tomorrow morning. Main track should dry fine, the turf looked to me like it needed water today (just not 4-6 inches) but then again, it is probably more like my lawn. We had a fairly hot dry summer, then two big September rain storms (5+ inches of rain) followed by more hot weather at the end of the month into October, then boom, frost. We’ve really had no cool fall weather as it was if a switch was flipped. I doubt there is much of a root system so I expect it to be fairly soft and chewed up on top. I don’t know much about the CD lawn, just my guess

It was hard to make up ground on the main track yesterday. Exactly ONE winner passed another horse in the stretch, and that was Game Winner ridden confidently at even money while the one horse he passed still finished second at 40-1. No one really made the wide move around the final turn and made up ground, as even minor shares were filled by pace horses hanging on. Joel Rosario did a great job riding the track bias, so of course he has BC dirt no mounts tomorrow until the Classic/Accelerate/good luck with that trip from the 14 hole.
