I've seen a number of references to "head-to-head" wagers that will be offered on both days (possibly 3 on Friday and 4 on Saturday) with a $10 minimum and only a 10% takeout. So far, I haven't been able to learn exactly what those wagers can be. Has anyone seen something more specific? Thanks.

"figures to include match ups that have a theoretical 50/50 chance against each other. An example of a head-to-head wager could be the Europeans vs. Americans in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, as well as possible individual match ups in other races."
Yet to be determined.(match ups) Could be a good bet if you have a strong opinion one way or the other.

The actual matchups for the "Head2Head" wagers have been announced, with 3 of them for Friday's races and 4 for Saturday's races.
Here's the link for any who are interested.

Perhaps I'm looking at it incorrectly, but if a player were to take Enable v. the rest of the field, isn't he just locking into a 9-10 ($3.80 for $2) win bet on Enable? Is she likely to drop below even money in the win pool? I suppose if someone were inclined to make a win bet on her, he could just watch the tote and bet whichever way the payoff is the best.

Maybe I'm looking at incorrectly but if it's still a pari-mutuel wager then the odds will be determined by the wagering and there is no such "locking in" of a payout. I guess, in theory, it is a surrogate win bet but subject to a lesser takeout. So, one should do better betting Enable in the H2H than in the win pool.
