Starting to look at the fields and just ho hum. It really is sad to see this event relegated to a meaningless prep worth $200k, but at least the management team is trying and hope the reappearance of the KY Cup Classic can be a good race moving forward.
No real feel for the Latonia Stakes for F&M carded as the 6th yet.
Saw Front Door break his maiden a couple weeks back late on a Friday night and was impressed. He did it from a far post that night and while he steps up in class, I'll use at his ML 12-1 with Violent Storm and the McPeeks.
KY Cup Classic drew a decent field for $100k. Royal son romped here last out and fits but Camelot Kitten is my easy winner over Chip Leader who tries to wire the field
Always like the Bourbonette and really think Consolida is much the best here
In the feature give me Pony Up. Fits the profile of recent winners coming in from GP off strong turf outs. Toss his Holy Bull on the dirt and his neck 2nd to Flameaway 2 back wins this provided he gets the distance. Ride a Comet came out of OBS and has a turf win last out so why not use him along with Archaggelos. With 5/1 being the ML favorite, everything should be a decent play.
Might even try to dabble at Oaklawn a bit for their stakes action on the day with the Essex (Multiplier?), and pair of G2s Azeri and Rebel (leaning Title Ready?) but lots of handicapping left to do there.
