Ankle issue after yesterday’s win, at Rood and Riddle and likely done for the year.

I love (sarcasm) the " he doesn't owe us anything " line while they whisk him off to stud to maximize his value.

retired from racing.
"The colt’s trainer and owners decided to end the colt’s racing career on advice from noted equine veterinarian Dr. Larry Bramlage."
I just read that Two Phils never made it to Rood & Riddle. Rivelli sent the radiology to Bramlage for analysis--- turns out it was a fractured sesamoid and Bramlage said the prognosis of him fully recovering his racing capacity was poor to fair. So he's been retired.
As for Two Phils as a racer, I personally really loved his pedigree, as well as the way he rates and covers around horses. I liked all his races and thought he had a lot of talent. I also liked his run (re-watching) in the Ohio Derby, liked his action, and thought he was actually getting better and was obviously the class of that field.
So I am sorry we won't get to see him continue on the track. I sure did think he was a lot better than many of the Derby *pretenders* for what it's worth.
I can't speak about Rivelli or ownership, since I only know 2nd and 3rd hand stuff people tell me....I'm just a fan of the horse himself.

I'm guessing $15,000 first season. Too low or high?

Someone do a wellness check on Rivelli.
“He was just blossoming into a Secretariat, he really was,” Rivelli said.

Someone do a wellness check on Rivelli. “He was just blossoming into a Secretariat, he really was,” Rivelli said. You don't think so?

Someone do a wellness check on Rivelli. “He was just blossoming into a Secretariat, he really was,” Rivelli said. Well.......yeah. True. I initially liked the General Quarters in the pedigree, as it implies a lot of flexibility on surfaces (GC won a G3 and two G1s on 3 different surfaces). Many horses win races on 2 or 3 surfaces, and even some stakes races in the mix and claiming or allowance races (like Awesome Gem, Colonel John) but not a huge amount win Graded Stakes on all 3 surfaces......e I haven't kept track over the years (since they removed a lot of synthetic) but that's somewhat rarified air, ala Lava Man, Einstein(BRZ), Muska, Panty Raid, Sidney's Candy, et al.
