I've tried to put myself in jockey's shoes...but we are all different. I just remember the stories Mike Smith told about what a "snack" is on an airplane......take one peanut, break in half, and "nibble on it" for a while, before using the other half of that one peanut. My package deliver guy is an ex jockey. he's still in great shape and seems to enjoy his work, which is still very physical. (I don't think he knew I followed racing and recognized him --- til I purchased his "trading card" on Amazon and gave to him as a gift just to let him know I appreciated him. ) So my reasons would be: 1) you can finally enjoy food 2) you retired while you're still in one piece, literally 3) you retire at the top of your game so you are remembered at your best #1 and #2 would be precious to me
