French Oaks at Chantilly this morning. 15 runners going 1 5/16mi. Blue Rose Cen and Running Lion are the big names, along with two undefeated fillies in Jannah Rose and Pensee Du Jour. Nice supporting card with quite a few English and Irish raiders.

#3- Balon D'Or (9-1) has a win, second and third in three starts, including a runner-up finish behind Bobsleigh at Epsom two weeks ago in the Woodcote Stakes. Hugo Palmer's yard has been struggling for a win lately, could be a big boost heading into Royal Ascot. #5- Les Pavots (5-1) won on debut going 6F, then ran a good second in a Listed event when dropped back to 5F at Vichy a month ago. #1- Zorken (5-2) is undefeated in two starts of heavy ground; #7- Ramatuelle (3-1) is a Justify filly that was narrowly beaten at odds-on in a conditions race three weeks ago; #10- Ziggy's Dream (10-1) runs for Alice Haynes/Tom Marquand after disappointing somewhat in an Irish GIII last time.
(note: Les Pavots is 'the poppies' in English, for those looking for a Father's Day hunch bet.)
WIN- 5 EX- 3,5/1,3,5,7,10
CHY R4 (9:15am ET)- 1m4f Prix du Lys (Group 3) (3yo) (Turf)

#6- Maniatic (3-1) looks poised for a big effort today following a good second to Ace Impact in a Listed race here last month. Ace Impact returned to take down top honors in the Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby, GI) here two weeks ago.
WIN- 6 EX- 6/1,4,5,7
CHY R5 (10:05am ET)- 1m2½f (1m2f110y) Prix de Diane (Group 1) (3yo Fillies) (Turf)

#14- Blue Rose Cen (6-1) has done little wrong in eight career starts (8/6-1-0), two-time GI winner took the French 1000 Guineas last time, now stretches out for Christopher Head looking to make history (Marcel Boussac, Guineas, Oaks.) Drew the rail PP1, so could be tricky from there but better than being 3-4 wide around the long RH turn. Not sure that 6-1 m/l will hold.
WIN- 14 EX- 14/1,2,3,9,10,11
