I was in this camp for certain on TT and simply not good enough, no excuses. I would have been thrilled had he gotten up for 2nd as did play the Arch/TT exacta as a saver.
Forte really impressed me if I am being honest. I gave this horse very little chance of the well publicized issues and 10 weeks off. I completely tossed him and to run the race he did all things considered, signifies 2 things to me.
1. Forte is much better than I ever gave him credit for to date, despite being the 2YO champ. Although I did throw up a bit in my mouth when I read comments from Pletcher about possibly not running again between Belmont and Travers. It appear very obvious now this colt has to be carefully managed and is one that won’t be around for a long campaign. 2. In the first half of the year, this is a very subpar crop of 3YOs.
Maybe the Belmont winner coupled with the returned Extra Anejo and yesterday’s Matt Winn winner, Disarm, along with Two Phils, can give us some thrills as we move through the calendar the remainder of the year and beyond.

Maybe the Belmont winner coupled with the returned Extra Anejo and yesterday’s Matt Winn winner, Disarm, along with Two Phils, can give us some thrills as we move through the calendar the remainder of the year and beyond. I went thru this list of all the KY Derby preps and it's useful to see who ran 1st thru 5th. I did not go thru the list to scratch the ones who are no longer racing or adjusting for duplicates, however, there's perhaps up to 30+ horses who I would love to see come back to race for the remainder of the calendar year. Starts with the Remsen in Sept 2022 and goes up to the Lexington in April 2023. It is also a good list to remind myself "who did what" during this long TC season----useful link: www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/triple-crown/kentucky-derby-prep-races/2023
