Large Mac and Mrs. Mac visited Newbury Racecourse on Saturday, where the featured GI Lockinge Stakes was won by Modern Games in the Godolphin colors. Mrs. Mac with 21yo Ouzbeck, a retired jumper which won at Cheltenham in April 2010. The Master of Ballydoyle, trainer Aidan O'Brien, in the walking ring with jockey Ryan Moore. They ran third in the Carnarvon Stakes with Aesop's Fables. Frankie Dettori, in the Juddmonte colors, returns to the winners enclosure aboard Haskoy. The 4yo filly just got her head down on the line in a thrilling renewal of the Al Rayyan Stakes (GIII). My favorite horse-in-training My Prospero, in the Sunderland colors, jockey Tom Marquand aboard, before the Lockinge. Thanks so much for this shot! 4yo filly Laurel in the walking ring before the Lockinge. Godolphin's Modern Games under tack before the Lockinge. Looks like it was a glorious day at the track, thank you for letting us enjoy a part of it, Keith and Nancy! TW

Ouzbeck is really a neat story. If you google search him there are a number of stories about his work as a therapy horse for seniors and disabled kids. Pretty special guy. There is also this video of him just being a horse. I love the expression on the horse with the white face next to him. He looks like he is worried that they will get caught. fb.watch/kFZZe50EUS/

These are of Tiz a Cyclone who won a class at his first horse show this weekend. UIC might remember that he was the OTB that Katie saved after he bowed quite severely at age 6. He’s 11 now and living the life of Riley. He’s a very kind horse. I’m proud that it worked out for him.
