… by Velasquez. Not so much by Castellano as I’d guess that Mage can run 6 furlongs in 1:13 in his sleep.
Not that I’m bitter.

MAGE was running his 3rd G1 in 6 weeks, and his 5th start in 4 months(his lifetime starts)—the two colts in the win photo couldn’t win anywhere this year and weren’t that close prior. The other 4 runners were filler hoping for a decent check.
While barred from CD, Baffert wins his 8th Preakness. Yes—he had an odds-on runner go down earlier. He had nothing to do with the 9 runners unfortunately euthanized at CD, and Charles Appleby had a Group 1 runner go down overseas last week.
Pletcher draws out litigation with Forte’s positive from Saratoga, where he had a few young runners die a few years ago after running out of their skin.
NY racing protects the big $$$ owners, and California has shielded Baffert. The claiming merry-go-round is all about turning a very quick buck these days due to high claiming purses.
Talking about all of this might eventually lead to something, if racing really wants to change……..
Either you keep on playing or you walk away……..
