This guy is right, all of us should be outraged. It's very sad to see a horse go down on the track. I've seen it in person at Saratoga, very upsetting, disturbing. I think trainers who knowingly race a horse that's unfit or juiced up should be barred from ever racing again.

I don't think we can DEFINITELY say that horses who suffer catastrophic events are *necessarily* juiced up or unfit.
Pretty sure Eight Belles wasn't unfit or juiced.
All it takes is stopping too quickly after the wire, or a mis-step, etc....... track surfaces aren't smooth like olympic skating rinks.
And to think there was massive public outrage that the Melbourne Cup had 7 fatalities..........in NINE YEARS. We probably have that many in less than a week.
I also have no idea why he is bringing Baffert into this. Baffert gave 9 horses a Thyroid Medication to horses who had no thyroid disease or and no diagnosis of thyroid problems. So this is apples and oranges.
And, in races where Baffert's horses were DQed, the was Evidence of drugs/medications. Not just accusations. Test results.

Horses are the most poorly designed creature to do what we ask them to do… run fast around a circle. 1,100 lbs on very small legs considering. In fact, they way we stable, feed, train, and race horses is simply counter to their entire physiology…. That’s why I have found employment in this industry for 25 years, there are always problems to address, mostly of our design to accommodate our own convenience.

While I agree with this You Tuber about how we need uniform rules and regs and suspensions and punishments that STICK and carry some true consequences.
He appears to desperately need a good college class in.......Logical Thinking.
I already explained Baffert's misguided offenses.
"all this happened during his suspension. That tell's you how much of a problem Bob is......"
Yes, dear Sir, bad things happen even when Bob isn't around. But Baffert's absence from the Derby does not relieve him from any of the things he has done or not done.
Meanwhile, looks like he's going to double down on The Baffert Program for his horses going to the Preakness, making them run their hearts out in the Preakness, just to prove a point and make a "gotcha". Would be surprised if he isn't secretly unhappy with 1:12 and 1:11 6Fs and such. He'll be going for sub-1:11s in his mind.........That'll show everybody!!!!!
These horses, to my mind, will be used to prove a point. May God help them.

I would like to ask a question that nobody has answered. Not that I've seen anywhere. Nobody has addressed why some firsters race with Lasix and others without it by the same trainer. Is it really more about Class? i.e. a horse like Forte, who went directly into graded stakes after breaking maiden and lasix free whole career. Not many get blessed with a classy horse like this. So what is that decision based on? Purchase price? Foaled earlier in the year? There was a lot of blood in their lungs after first race? Or maybe Potential bleeders? Then they go 5 races w/out it? Or like Cox, sneaks horses over to tracks like Horseshoe Indiana where horse gets some lasix, then comes back to stakes and runs w/out it? (he did this with Cyberknife, same thing, too). Or do they just need that first win to move forward in Conditions, and dropping 10-20 pounds helps them get that? Nobody seems to ever bring this up.
