If bute overage why delay this long? Maybe not bute?

This is why I believe we should have transparency, i.e, we need to know the reason why horses were or are, on the vet's list, for instance.
How many people lost their non refundable future wagers on Forte, etc.

Like Baffert in Cal, Pletcher has always been bullet-proof in NY, particularly Saratoga

I wonder when we will hear the result of today’s hearing. Already some well known pundits on Twitter @pastthewire and @jonathanstettin are saying that it was not Bute 😳

Probably stacked different ones at different withdrawal times leading up to race. Won't be secret much longer now. Look to who was comfortable giving Drape the story. Old money blue bloods had enough for years.

It's not a bute overage so that could be the issue as the product is approved for horses in the EU and Australia, but not in the US. It is available for other species, but would have to been used off label or from a compounded preparation here. Both of those are things that are no no's when an FDA approved alternative for that species (in this case the horse) is readily available.
As for the vet issue - I think the Repole interview didn't help but of the 3 mentioned, I am curious who the Dr. Johnson is... one Dr. Johnson is a state vet, another it could be is not.... there is also a third possibility but doubt it is that one.

1000 tablets for $32. I wonder what Pletcher billed Repole 🤑 He never billed me for any meloxicam but I'm waiting to see the bill from Bramlage two weeks ago.

Old money blue bloods had enough for years. i'm not sure my nyt subscription is current...who were they? and, more importantly is tp now saying forte is too injured to be ready for the preakness, or that he's not allowed be trained, or that they don't want to file a lawsuit about it and have repole end up like dutrow? (already needs a new lawyer or sumthin)

Could be curtains for Pletcher as Joe Drape of NYT tonight drops News that Pletcher’s horse Mind Control failed a drug test at Parx also in September of last year 😱

Looks to me they got withdrawal time wrong. More powerful than bute, longer withdrawal time. I have often surmised that this is all about good barn management........and for an event like the TC races, whoever is in charge of tracking withdrawal times, has to be FLAWLESS at their job. Of course there are those who have 30-40 suspensions (probably because the punishments/consequences are so light) ......but I'm not talking about them. Yet, there ARE trainers who have few to none medication suspensions on their record, so that proves it CAN certainly be done *properly*. Maybe smaller barns are the answer and nobody allowed to enter more than 2 horses in a big stakes race would help? And of course, more transparency. Most of this circus (PR and legal) and dents in reputation certainly could have been avoided with just a few simple things like this? IOW, there is no story to provide to Drape if you don't create one. But when you leave a carpet on the floor, under which you sweep secrets, you must expect people will come in and start looking under that carpet. The point is to not have the carpet in the first place?

Team Valor horse OK Boomer involved. At least I got paid for the Bella Romanza win.
Lisa Lazarus, CEO of the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority, indicated it is unlikely a case like Forte's would have been pursued as a violation under the newly formed group's Anti-Doping and Medication Control program, which has higher screening levels for certain substances and an “atypical findings” policy designed to identify contamination cases.

I know these are all overages of legal medications but why push the envelope when you know that the horse racing industry is under such scrutiny. Whatever happened to Water Hay and Oats ? 😳

isn't every sport under scrutiny? the difference here is that horses (who have no choice in the matter) can DIE
i will NEVER believe that ANY owner or trainer uses only water, hay and oats and if they do i'll look 4 a buzzer

Depends on your definition of scrutiny . Don’t see any campaigns to close down ” Soccer “, Rugby or Cricket.

What I can't figure out is why I only read about Forte's "stumble" on forums.......not in the racing press.
It's the same leg each time.
The workout comments you see in the racing press are always so glowing; do they not realize people are watching the works on video?
