I mean , a nose from winning the SA Derby, training in the USA and is 20/1 ? A UAE Derby winner has never even been close in the KD and Derma is 5/1 on the board. WTF ?

Odds should have been closer to those of Mandarin Hero to my mind, but Kiss of death for the odds. I disliked him from the beginning......seems a jittery type |

Odds should have been closer to those of Mandarin Hero to my mind, but Kiss of death for the odds. But Yes, I've been against Derama since the day he won the UAE Derby, and I've said so about a thousand times? I gave all the reasons why several times, too I was FOR Continuar. When he scratched I was FOR Mandarin Hero. If you need me to find the posts I can, but I've said it so many times it shouldn't be hard to find. Maybe you have me confused w/someone else? I said after UAE Derby he was 1w1w in that race, wasn't going to get the same trip here, and in some of the topics about workouts, I said he was anxious, jittery, and not my cup of tea. I only put a whole $2 on him because of my jockey contest pick of Lemaire and Johnny V. That was the sum total of my "belief" in Derma Sotogake, and it was marked clearly as a gimmick bet and I told why.  IMHO Derma's odds would not have gone so low had not Andy picked him.....he's a big name in this game and I have to think many punters out there take his picks to heart, since he had Medina Spirit. Conversely, for many of us, his pick IS the kiss of death, and a non-play LOL as for "calling people out", I actuallly haven't seen anyone do that on this forum? I've seen good discussions where people agree or disagree with other's picks, or corrects something factual.........but I am not aware of anyone "calling anyone out". Are you saying you get called out here? |

perhaps i AM just thinking of your gimmick bet I believe that is what happened, merasmag.  I was just noting that Derma Sotogake was Andy Beyer's pick for anyone who didn't know. Seems like he would have a lot of followers out there in the racing universe. When he made that pick I figured the odds would go down on Derma somewhat. |
