In the past 22 Derbys 14 winners had all 5 of this trends, and 5 other winners had 4 of the 5 trends.

It looks like the only qualifier in the system above would be Verifying.

There are 7 horses that appear to be fit these trends, 2-5-6-10-14-15-17. While there is no way to prove Derma Sotogake fits all the frends I can understand why he believes he fits here. I watch that race for the first time this morning and he was impressive. He led most of the way the ran off down the lane. The jock used the whip twice that I could see but was other wise it was hand ride all the way.
