This girl might be tough to handle. Hooper
“She is a gallant filly and a credit to herself and the team,” Charlie Appleby said. “We’ve always been fond of her and she’s tough and genuine and a typical Dubawi. She’s danced every dance and we came into today very confident--I thought she was the standout in the paddock and all being well, we’ll head to the [Nov. 3 GI] Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf.”

Was impressed with A Raving Beauty’s win at Keeneland but in no way do I think she will relish the 1 3/8 trip of the F&M Turf.

Thoughts before pre-entries:
Coronet- Has run against the best Europe has to offer, including a second and a third in G1s against males. G2 winner in GB. Gosden & Dettori ! Update- ran a good 2nd to Magical at Ascot yesterday. Not being pointed to this.
Sistercharlie- Best American hope. Three-time G1 winner in 2018. Turf 9/ 5-3-0.
Wild Illusion- Two G1 wins at 10F. Turf 8/ 4-2-1. Still improving 3yo.
Also in the mix- Eziyra, Kitesurf.

This race at CD has produced some crazy payouts when held here and I do think the distance change to 1 3/8 will impact a few. While hard to ignore Chad Brown, Wild Illusion looks to fit the bill of a well meant Euro but I'll likely start my tickets with Eziyra on the slight cut back to be full of run when it counts.

As of today no defections from the race. Eziyra lightly raced 4yo has never missed the board, handles all going, finished a close third to Sea of Class who would be even-money here. Fourstar Crook is a terrific NYB mare and Sistercharlie's nemesis. Never been better. 11F probably doesn't help her, but she's handled yielding ground. Magical is a top-class 3yo filly, handles soft turf, wasn't embarrassed in the Arc, returned to take down GI in GB 13 days later. Can she squeeze out one more corker? First preference is the Turf, however. Sistercharlie MGIW, handled the distance in Europe, question mark on less than firm ground, has tremendous turn-of-foot. Flying in the lane? Wild Illusion MGIW 3yo Godolphin filly keeps improving, handles all ground, connections seemed very keen to bring her over. I think this race, and the Dirt Mile, are the two most compelling races of the day, in addition to the wide-open Classic.
Most likely winners: Eziyra (P), Sistercharlie (S), Wild Illusion (P). Other win candidates: Magical (P) (if she goes).
Can use underneath: Fourstar Crook (S), Magic Wand (P). Running Style: (E)= Early speed; (P)= Pace tracker; (S)= Sustained late run.
