Thoughts before the pre-entries:
Wow Cat- I'm now a big fan of this 4yo filly. Looked like just another S.A. "wonder horse" that would melt stateside, but she's got the right stuff. Career 11/ 9-1-1. I'm banking on her last race being a perfect set up for the Distaff. She didn't beat much, but Jose Ortiz just cruised up to the lead without much urging, and then put her to the test in the lane. Watch the replay, it was a tour-de-force. The other horse that intrigues me is Blue Prize, 5yo mare at 9F 8/ 4-3-1, at CD 5/ 3-2-0. Abel Tasman and the 3yo fillies will take a lot of money in the pools. Hoping for square prices on the aforementioned duo.

Think I am playing this race the same as I did the Oaks - Wonder Gadot/Monomoy Girl with Blue Prize sprinkled in.

Waiting for entries/PP draw later today. Not sure about Abel Tasman, I think she'll run okay, but not back to her BEL/SAR form of earlier this year. Blue Prize loves the CD oval, and the race distance. Won't be better than 4th choice in the wagering, needs to find a couple of lengths to catch the top three. Bravo needs to smooth out the stretch run, too. Midnight Bisou rebounded at PRX after a puzzling loss in the Alabama, which might have been to far for her. Now 0-for-3 in races at 9f or more. Gets new pilot in Johnny V. Monomoy Girl has been spotted very smartly since her Oaks victory. The Acorn set her up for the CCA Oaks, then skipping the Alabama to use the Cotillion for a final BC prep may have gone against tradition, but fits with trainer's steppingstone pattern. Look for Vale Dori to keep her company up front. Wonder Gadot appears over the top after a long year and a dubious decision to go in the Travers. Wow Cat finally put it all together in Beldame, should have no issues with distance or surface. Upset special!
Most likely winners: Monomoy Girl (E), Wow Cat (P).
Other win candidates: Blue Prize (P).
Can use underneath: Abel Tasman (P), Midnight Bisou (P) Running Style: (E)= Early speed; (P)= Pace tracker; (S)= Sustained late run.
