I went to XBTV and all the everything there was not at CDX. THen of course I used logic, and went to the "official" KY Derby site. As Badactor was so kind to post all the CD "arrival videos", what we know: both Japanese horses have been there for a while already. And then there are all these Arrival videos So yeah, plenty of Derby horses with boots on the ground already at Churchill. I guess it's too much to ask to just SEE THEM on the track, even if just taking a walk or galloping ......or SOMETHING? All in one place on the "official" KY Derby site? I mean, at this point I'd even settle for "bath time" or 'walking the shedrow" Do I have to go all over the internet, to Twitter, You Tube, XBTV and god only knows where else to see the horses? Seems so.

This was.........great.
So again, we are relying on "some kind internet strangers" to do the job that KY Derby Official website is not doing. (no surprise there). But I don't really feel "whiney" by mentioning it's a chore that you may have to go 5 different places to see all these things. go to twitter, you tube, xbtv, ky derby official site, and god only knows where else to get videos of horses on the ground at CD.
Our biggest races of the year, Oaks and Derby, supposedly. and seems that the dissonance between the claims for the importance of these races and the poor coverage of something as important as works leading up to those races, and not being consolidated anywhere in one official place. I am just disappointed .
Tapit Trice I saw elsewhere both he and Wild on Ice have that very loud breathing habit. Nor roarers, but they sure are loud.
I am no evaluator of workouts though.
Doesn't Hit Show look like he has a lot of high leg action?
Confidence Game looked good to me?

Kevin works for Churchill and has been putting up videos nearly every morning in an official capacity, on Twitter at least. I believe they will start the Derby works show next week and run every morning during the dedicated training time. I haven’t seen that officially but believe that is the plan - probably starting Friday or Saturday would be my guess.

Anyone else taking notice of the Japanese runners in the mix? The runner-up in the Santa anita Derby opened my eyes.....Last year I started seeing runners from there do extremely well in Europe and in the Arab countries. So well that I wondered if they had discovered Baffert's secret potions or something powerful of their own.
Any thoughts?

That's one of the reasons this forum is so great, we pool our resources.

A good thing to point out. For those who never followed circuits other than north america, it may seem sudden, but it isn't. They've been taking horses to numerous continents for a long time now. 2006, Australia’s Melbourne Cup, Japanese horses Delta Blues (Iwata) & Pop Rock (Oliver), trained by Katsuhiko Sumii, ran one-two. 2 Delta Blues $17.50 $5.50 12 Pop Rock $2.10

I assume that to be the case, though I remember a short spell between England and Saudi/Dubai where it was somewhat surreal with Japanese horses re-breaking down the stretch that seemed above the norm.

b7 wearing cups huh? is that how he always works/races? Added blinkers for Blue Grass. Chad Brown. “I like the way he was moving with the blinkers. He did empty a little bit at the eighth pole which has me trying to determine if he doesn’t want to go that far, which is a possibility".

Fairly certain it is live 7-8am, then archived on the KY Derby website.

Continuar's breeze this morning might be the worst I've seen in all of the years I've been watching Derby works. He was asked, it didn't look smooth and it was slow (half in 50). Derma Sotogake (they worked together), looked better but he was also asked more than I am used to seeing and think it was 5 F in a minute (edit- make that 1:01.40). Unless this is a big fake out, I'm losing some interest in using.
