While Happily might be an interesting contender likely Polydream for me in this spot.

While Happily might be an interesting contender likely Polydream for me in this spot in a race I am not overly thrilled at playing at this point a week out.

American's slim hopes reside with Oscar Performance, who should be on or near the lead, and late-closing Catapult, who has really improved under Sadler's care. Interestingly, they are both sons of Kitten's Joy. Europeans should dominate this race. Any of 3yo Expert Eye's last four races would likely win this. Sir Michael Stoute has seven BC wins, but none in the Mile. I Can Fly 3yo filly just ran Roaring Lion to a neck in the QEII, admittedly over soft ground he despised. Lightning Spear's Ascot/Goodwood form would crush these foes, but he's tailed off, and soft ground will undo him. Mustashry is another one for Stoute, has been beating up on GII/GIII opponents, 5yo deserves a shot. May prefer firmer going. Polydream 3yo filly has been sprinting, not sure the stretchout will do her good. Handles or even prefers give in the ground.
Most likely winner: Expert Eye (P)
Other win candidates: Lightning Spear (S) (good-firm only)
Can use underneath: Catapult (S), I Can Fly (S), Mustashry (P), Oscar Performance (E).
Running Style: (E)= Early speed; (P)= Pace tracker; (S)= Sustained late run.
