Thoughts before the pre-entries:
Current- Broke maiden going a mile at BEL, then just got up in time in a G3 at KEE, at 8.5F. Curlin x Storm Cat colt had outstanding gate work on dirt before debut at SAR, might we see him on the main track too? Similar vibe to Catholic Boy.
Line of Duty- Coming off G3 win going 9F in France. Turf 4/ 2-2-0. Galileo colt for Appleby/Godolphin.
Uncle Benny- Good backstory with this colt. Stormed home late to win 6F Futurity at BEL. Jason Servis on the stretchout = $.
Also in the mix- Broome, Somelikeithotbrown, Henley's Joy.

As of today no defections from the race. Anthony Van Dyck is the highest rated European in here, but succumbed to closers late in last two outings. Handles all surfaces. Broome put it all together at LCH, needs an alert start for best. Other Europeans came back slow on the ratings. Current and Henley's Joy finished one/two at KEE, have no knocks. Forty Under was very impressive finishing fast over yielding ground at BEL, two-for-two on the lawn. Uncle Benny won from an impossible spot turf sprinting, trainer is money on the stretchout.
Long-range weather forecast calls for significant rain event Wed.-early Thurs., so there's a good chance the turf will be less than firm.
Most likely winners: Anthony Van Dyck (P), Current (S), Forty Under (P).
Other win candidates: Henley's Joy (P), Uncle Benny (P).
Can use underneath: Broome (E), Somelikeithotbrown (P), War of Will (E).
Running Style: (E)= Early speed; (P)= Pace tracker; (S)= Sustained late run.

A hatpin race. It does not look like the Euros sent their better horses here other than Anthony Van Dyck (4/1) who draws the unfortunate 14 hole. While I'll probably include him in some horizontal and vertical wagers, I'll try to beat him with Uncle Benny (15/1), War of Will (12/1) and Current (5/1). Uncle Benny certainly has the breeding to go this distance and looks to be on the lead or close to the pace from a favorable post draw. There doesn't appear to be much speed signed up except for War of Will and, though he likes to get caught late, he may improve enough to finish the job here. Current beat a big field (13) in his last closing well off a fairly pedestrian pace.
