Terrific card at Gulfstream today. Here are some live picks.
Race 9 - STEAL SUNSHINE - we're taking a shot with a price play here. This horse had some class last spring and summer, even running in the Florida Derby. He likes
Gulfstream and has a win at 7 furlongs. Shortens up from a mile and best of all he gets Irad! Hoping to get 6-1. Weyburn tries for a repeat in this race and should be tough
to beat. Dean Delivers and My Prankster in the mix.
Race 10 - SOUPER HOITY TOITY - Casse miss is 2 for 3 over the sod including a Grade 3 win at Woodbine. Working very sharply and should be ready to fire.
Marketsegmentation should be tough although she doesn't look like one of Chad Brown's top shelf horses. Perseverancia can be in the picture.
Race 11 - AUNT SHIRLEY - her maiden breaker Beyer of 75 fits with these. She was thrown in a Grade 1 after that which was probably a little bit ambitious. Pletcher takes
over and he has good numbers with first time, over 180 day layoff and first time turf. Gets Irad. Riding Pretty exits a good run in the Grade 3 Herecomesthebride. Breat
Away, Mrs. Astor and Love Appeals can be in the picture.
Race - 12 - ATOMICALLY - 2nd race off the layoff. Was off a bit slow in her return and should be ready to roll, Miracle, the other Pletcher, is the horse to beat. Dorth Vader
wont be 46-1 but can get a piece. Infinite Diamond can upset at a price.
Race 13 - GRAY'S FABLE - in what is the toughest race of the day (at least 6 have a shot), we're looking for a price. This old timer has been working lights out since his return to action in February. Loves the trip and the course and should be rolling late at 10-1. Fort Washington, trained by my co favorite trainer Shug, is another who should be rolling late.
He closed into a 48.1 half last time and the early pace should be much faster with lots of early speed signed on. Winfromwithin is one of these speedballs who might carry his speed. Striker, Steady On and Souper Dormy will be on deep pick 3 tickets.
Race 14 - FORTE - I'm no genius picking this horse, but despite his post, he lays all over this field. The secret is handicapping for 2nd. Even though he's the wise guy
horse, MAGE fits the bill. He's' the only one of the second tier that's drawn inside. Delgado is no stranger saddling bombs to run second in the Florida Derby. Although this horse won't be a bomb, I'll play Forte/Mage/all and Mage/Forte/all.
Good Luck
