Either the horse grew in abilties between late Fall of last year when he was running mostly 60s,(which is entirely possible because these are still fast-developiong babies), or Baff got a new feed guy since then. But you know the old saying: It's a horse race Jumpers for me was my pick in the contest, One In Vermillion. Those are some stiff works put into him, and he seems to be a winning type with 3 wins and a place, albeit not at this distance, but maybe that is what the big works was all about. I go for the overall athleticism and he seems to have it. Tons of speed signed on here, let's see who un-does who. I also like Low Expectations. |

oneinvermillion's name caught my eye and would have been my pick but for noticing everything about low expectations (who also has a great name). i will probably do an eb there if i have anything left after tryng to hit the p6 with a mandatory payout at gg

Like a friend of mine so brilliantly characterized this race: COYOTES chasing ROAD RUNNERS. I spit my coffee from laughing so hard at that. Tons of speed signed on here on a "cement-like" track. I figure anything can happen in the Land of Enchantment, (real or imagined) esp. if you know your wildflowers and mushrooms (Peyote Cactus; Panaeolus Cinctulus, etc.)   |

I think somebody put $100,000 to win on the Baffert horse. It was only the win pool that was distorted as he was NOT a dominant fave in the place/show pools. The track should use the takeout to buy a decent camera or two.
Also, this was a six horse field that allowed super high five betting.....and it paid $10K for 50 cents.

I forgot about this race.
Maybe they went a little fast early considering pinhead riders(who should still know the surface and pace).
Winner/runner-up soon to be forgotten also…….

Winner/runner-up soon to be forgotten also……. jmo Winner won't be forgotten, was just supplemented for TC nomination, and with 50 points he may very well make the gate. Sometimes with defections they can make the gate at 20. I think there was only one horse since the point system started that got in at 10 points, forgot who that was though. IMHO, there will be worse horses than Wild On Ice running in the Derby. As mentioned in my other post about him, he is a nice little homebred out of texas, and I like homebreds to begin with, but he also has some nice influences in his pedigree including a Breeders Cup Classic winner up close. |

baffert is just tellin the point system to f-off...but it seems to be backfiring. i hate it tho. always (relatively) have, always will. but i don't want to digress because its about x 2 get serious
