After 3 of 4 days at OBS March under tack breezes there have been 30 under 10 second breezes and another 100 at 10 flat. Most of these babies will need weeks or more to recover.

I know nothing about horses at all but that seems mighty fast for them young legs----I suppose it's all about money, the faster the work the more money they might get. But if I owned a horse I sure wouldn't do that to him.

that speed sells big time----:10 is now the benchmark. We took a 2yo nybred to Maryland for the 2yo in training sale just after last year's preakness. Worked :10:4 and was still kicking in at the wire. Honestly a good clean runout with energy is very important to watch. We got $135k for a nybred filly that only cost us $15k. I really liked her and have kept track of her through her first two starts(both in the mud). She has speed, but wondering if she wantas even 6 furlongs.....

As Bev said, they will never have to run that fast again.......
