Race is over-subscribed, but I'm root for Scoobie Quando. The pedigree is interesting, lots of un-lasixed german blood in there and lots of stamina: www.pedigreequery.com/scoobie+quandoBroodmare sire is full-brother to Galileo(IRE), half-brother to Sea The Stars. Dam was winning in Ger at 11F on turf. The Uncle Mo sire side should imbue some speed. I was a big Limosine Liberal fan so I've had Colebrook in my stable since 2014-ish. He's very capable, and since he is the one who developed Knicks Go, for his first 13 races before he was given to super trainer Brad Cox, I will stick with being a Ben Colebrook fan. I followed him since 2015 because of Limosine Liberal, who loved Churchill. Knicks Go paid $142 to win the BC Futurity. Why? Because nobody will ever look at a Korean owned horse, bred in Maryland. Until they end up with a super trainer. It always amazes me how there seems to be little room in US racing for a lot of truly capable trainers and horses who never get recoginition unless super trainer, super jock are in the picture. But I guess as long as US racing fans clamour for that, that is what they'll receive. If Irad was riding a burro in a TB race, it would still go off at 2-1 odds. I wish racing fans would examine their biases more often, but if owners only give their good horses to super trainers, that's all we're ever gonna see. 3 asmussens, 3 bafferts, 3 coxes, 3 chad browns in one race. And that to me is NOT make for a "good racing product". |
