Victory formation has posted some nice works since his Smarty Jones score. Would be a little concerned that his Bris speed fig went down in his first route try but maybe that's an anamoly (sp?)

I’m going with Crupi . The connections wouldn’t have given him this name if they didn’t think very highly of him as a youngster . Intrigued that Luis Saez is riding Angel of Empire considering he was on Determinedly for his last four races . Also the fact that Johnny V is making the trip to Fairgrounds to ride Harlocap for his “new” trainer is appealing.

In the 8th race, an OC 80,0001x on the undercard, I am interested in watching First Defender for Asmussen. Out of Quality Road and an AP Indy Mare. Couldn't have looked better in his maiden breaker, stretches out to 1 1/16 in his second start. Johnny V aboard, 3-1 ML, second choice to Banishing.

If anyone scratches I would add Two Phil's but was unable to separate him and Curly Jack out. Maybe whoever has the better odds is way to go.
If anyone is interested, the *never lasix* horses are 9,10 and 13.
If you remember last year, the SUPERFECTA for the KY derby were all never-lasix horses.
The winner of the Belmont stakes was also a never-lasix horse. NEVER, meaning in no races whatesoever.
That said, this isn't the derby or belmont and actually, some horses I like for those races I am not picking for the Risen Star, but saving for *later*.
(dunno why more people don't talk about what I just said......like why do they even need it? Cox and Pletcher uusually play the lasix then no lasics for stakes races though so hard to keep up with that but I keep track).

Re the above- just saw the DRF for the race and it had VF posting a career best speed fig in the Smarty Jones, so a discrepancy between Bris and DRF. |

Thanks folks. Somedays it pays to be patient. I spent a lot of time handicapping so persevered in playing to the end even though I had not cashed a thing till the last. My hopes were briefly up before being dashed in the 10th when Mr. Wireless just couldn't go on by Pioneer of Medina, who I did not play at all. Caught the win, exacta, and tri in the Risen Star. Thanks to you who touted Sun Thunder, as It led me to give him a hard look and include on my ticket.
