Believe this or not—-in the 60s on Staten Island, I was up very close watching Hendrix jam with the original Jeff Beck Group(Ron Wood on bass). Rod was hoarse from the Fillmore weekeńd so Jimi subbed. Just after releases of Truth and Axis.
True story……
