So I completely missed the reinvention of Turfway Park after CD Inc. bought it in 2019. Brand new facility, including historical racing gaming (slots), track surface changed to Tapeta. Races run at 6F & 6 1/2F, 1 mile & 1 mile 1/16, and 1 1/4 mile, under the lights except for matinee cards on Saturdays. Also a few 9F stakes later in the season. Purse structure has gone through the roof, with MSW at $70K. Stakes race(s) almost every weekend with purses of $125,000 and more. The money has led top barns to have a presence this winter, with names like Brad Cox, Steve Asmussen, Mike Maker, and Wesley Ward. Nearly every race has 10-12 runners. A typical card has a few low-level claiming races to start, then a MSW and a few ALW/OCLM/CLM races follow before a MDCLM to end the day. I'm interested enough to start following/betting this track, it seems like a good opportunity to get ahead of the crowd. WPS and exacta pools have $50K-$90K per race, which is around 25% of what AQU and GP accrue. I don't think the whales are paying much attention. The track has its own YouTube channel (for watching replays), and an active presence on social media. TP R5 (7:55pm ET)- ALW 72000N1X 6.5F AW 3up F&M
At Turfway the last several meets, there is Gerardo Corrales, and then everyone else among jockeys. A couple of his previous rivals are at Oaklawn Park this winter, so he figures to be even more dominant (50/17-5-7 34%/58%.) Chris Landeros goes well here, along with Joseph Ramos.
#6- Street Jam (10-1) is a lightly-raced 3yo daughter of Street Sense for Ian Wilkes, who has started the meet well (3/1-0-1.) Broke her maiden at first asking in the slop at CD, but has had trouble finding that form again in four N1X tries since. B-on for this, and facing an easier field than in her recent efforts. #8- Echo Foxtrot (12-1) won her first two starts against claimers, then ran mid-pack at SAR before getting dueled into submission in a turf dash at DEL. Fresh off a three month break, Delacour is good at this and is having a fine 2022.
EX- 6,8/2,6,7,8
TP R6 (8:25pm ET)- OCLM50000N1X 8F AW 2YO F
Difficult group to sort with only one entrant having previous AW experience. #3- Baytown Lovely (5-1) won on debut, and has faced stakes foes in two of her next four. Ran a good closing fourth behind Rusty Arnold's promising filly Red Carpet Ready (Oscar Peformance) last time in the Fern Creek Stakes ($200K) at CD. Bullet work over the track last week, regular rider Gilligan aboard. She's never been less than 20-1 in any start.
WIN- 3
TP R7 (8:55pm ET)- OCLM25000N1X 10F AW 3up
Wide-open affair, so spreading out. #2- Kitten Mischief (4-1) ran three good dirt races, then underwhelmed on turf. Hoping the distance will bring forth improvement. Trainer Jonathan Thomas is very good off a short break, and going to the AW. #12- Verstappen (9-2) draws widest of all in twelve, but has some speed, and the length of the stretch to get over to the inside heading into the clubhouse turn. The Danzig line is very pre-potent on the AW, and this one has been the distance already (on turf), and was close up with Kitten's Mischief at KEE in her last. Should be a fun race to watch, and learn from.

Thanks guys! Going back to the well again tonight.
TP R5 (7:55pm ET)- OCLM25000N1X 8F AW 3up
#2- Nathan Detroit (12-1) has a win over the course & distance last December, when he was dropped in for a tag for the first time and claimed from the race by current trainer Norm Cash, who has run him back sixteen times so far in 2022. Won twice this summer at LRL on the grass, but since two subsequent stakes duds he's slowly descended the ladder to end up in for a $25K tag today. Competent 7lb bug Rodriguez gets the call. Figuring they are dropping to win, knowing he's likely going back to another barn after the race. #6- Wake Surf (8-1) broke his maiden at GP last December, then ran okay on the AW track in an off-the-turfer there. Only beaten three lengths in minor Tampa turf stake in March, and has been hunting for a N1X turf mile ever since. Meets a much easier field tonight, gets Landeros to help his chances.
EX- 2,6/2,6,7,11,12
TP R6 (8:25pm ET)- MSW70000 8F AW F&M 3up
I watched trainer Philip Bauer win route races all summer at SAR, and this looks like the M.O. here. $200K KEESEP purchase #2- Such Sounds (9-2) debuted at 9F on the KEE turf in October and ran a credible fourth from the ten-hole. Two good works at CD since then, Landeros rides him back, expecting a big effort. #4- Rosia Bay (4-1) had three 'meh' turf tries at KEE, BEL, and BAQ against good company, got some time off and returns with a steady series of works at KEE. DeVaux has good numbers in this situation, and somebody paid $185K for a Lord Nelson filly, so she must look the part. Hunch play more than anything.
EX- 2,4/2,3,4,9
TP R7 (8:55pm ET)- OCLM40000N2X 6F AW F&M 3up
#7- Altered Shot (6-1) makes AW debut but sports a good career record on dirt (15/4-3-4.) Ran against better foes in last four CD races, gets Ramos in the saddle, and trainer Foley spots his horses well. #8- Thunder Love (5-2) started on the AW (Tapeta) at Kempton in GB, winning at first asking and again in a Novice race by 5 1/2 lengths. Ran against some very good 2yo turf fillies at York and Doncaster before getting thumped by Tenebrism in a GI. Amo Racing (purple/white silks) has a US-arm now, and she was shipped to Paulo Lobo for a sprint campaign. Had two good runs at CD and BEL, now goes back to her favored (?) surface and gets some class relief too. Corrales takes the call and should be motoring through the stretch. Spreading underneath hoping for value.
EX- 7,8/3,4,6,7,8,9
Good luck if you are playing!

12/16- www.equibase.com/static/entry/TP121622USA-EQB.htmlTP R2 (6:25pm ET)- SALW5000 10F AW 3upwww.brisnet.com/cgi-bin/briswatch.cgi/public/Darley/ANIMAL+KINGDOM/2008/summary.html#1- English Challenge (5-2) is a HFTC (12/3-3-1) which won at a mile vs CLM12500 here two weeks ago. Pedigree ideal for 10F & AW. #10- Markitoff (3-1) beat the top one two back at BTP on grass. His pedigree is also superior for today's task. Hoping to split these two with a price horse. EX- 1,10/1,4,6,8,10 TP R5 (7:55pm ET)- OCLM25000N1X 6F AW 3upwww.brisnet.com/cgi-bin/briswatch.cgi/public/Winstar_Farm_LLC/DISTORTED+HUMOR/1993/summary.html#5- Fight On (6-1) still has to prove himself on the Tapeta, but he won the last time he was dropped in for a tag at this level, and the trainer/jockey stats are very favorable for today's set up. #6- Race Driver (3-1) drops into a winning spot today. Any of his five AW races showing in the PPs from last winter would probably win this, and just ran a career best on turf at HAW. The one to beat. EX- 5,6/2,5,6,7,9,10 TP R7 (8:55pm ET)- OCLM50000B 6.5F AW 3upwww.brisnet.com/cgi-bin/briswatch.cgi/public/WesleyAWard/WARD+WESLEY+A/9999/summary.htmlThere are some exceptionally good horses entered in here, aided by the various conditions of the race. #1- Night Time (10-1) is a quality dirt sprinter, but Romans isn't good on the AW and the horse lost to two of these at KD two back. #5- Bad Beat Brian (7-2) just finished two lengths behind Golden Pal in GII Woodford at KEE last out. Sire-line is favored for AW, bullet work at HAW in the holster, trainer/rider combo humming right along. #7- Mucho (4-1) had a terrific 2021 (10/3-3-1 $335K), but some of the luster has come off this season. I'll bet John Ortiz thought this was a good spot to get him on a winning track again until he saw the overnights. Can be there at the finish if he handles AW. #8- Assymetric (4-1) all this guy did last season as a 2yo in GB/FR was: get nosed by Lusail in a GII; win the GII Richmond Stakes at Goodwood; and run less than two lengths behind Perfect Power in two GIs! Only three starts in the USA in 2022, lacked a finishing punch, maybe a physical issue or needs some cut in the ground. AW seems like a reasonable switch to try. I won't doubt Wesley Ward in this situation. When they carded this exact race one year ago #12- Visitant (8-5) set the track record, winning in 1:15 flat. That's fast, people! {note: Race Driver, in R5 above, was second to Visitant that day FWIW} Ultimate HFTC at (8/6-1-1) and undefeated here at today's distance. Off since April but fires fresh, Corrales rides him again, beat the man to be the man. Finally #14- Bakers Bay (10-1) goes for Phipps/Tom Drury while Shug is on 'vacation.' Confirmed marathon-turf-race runner turned back to 6 1/2 at KD and ran second to Bad Beat Brian, probably can't beat all of these, but adds to the overall quality. What a race, sheesh. EX- 5,12/5,7,8,12,14 TP R8 (9:25pm ET)- MSW70000 8.5F AW 2yowww.brisnet.com/cgi-bin/briswatch.cgi/public/BradHCox/COX+BRAD+H/9999/summary.html#6- Canavall (50-1) broke well from the 10-hole on debut, couldn't slide over so dropped back towards the rear of the field, made a second move to fan eight wide into the stretch, gained a few positions but was understandably used up by then and finished a distant fifth. Should go well in two-turn debut, if he takes to Tapeta he can be there late. Not sure why he's 50-1 m/l. Flyer at a big price. WIN- 6 EX- 2,3,4,12/6 TW

Is about an hour away from me when I am up north.May have one running there before going to kee turf, so I will check it out then.
Usually a cold depressing evening atmosphere in the past, and I don’t usually play AW surfaces. Still I want to see the place…….no poker room is a negative for me—-not playing slots.
May take a shot on ASSYMMETRIC tonight, though as mentioned, a salty field and not sure about getting the distance. Runner has had time off to adjust and get ít right over here….

Got blanked yesterday. $32 in, $0.00 out.
TP R6 (3:15pm ET)- AW76000N3L 6.5F AW 3up
#1- Willtorun (7-2) 3yo has won two of three starts, one in a turf sprint at ELP, and last out on dirt at CD. Progressive colt looks to conquer his third surface today and may just be this good. #3- Prime Factor (5-2) has B-on today after narrow miss to Thin White Duke at Baqueduct last time. Two bullets in the holster for Cherie DeVaux, may blast right away from the gate without much other speed signed up.
