With the pool 3 nearing closure, he has been bet down to co-favoritism @6-1 with Bolt D'oro. Incredible.

Great post Eye. Thanks for sharing.I was thinking along the lines of Curlin.
Justify schedule would be closest to his if he makes it to the Derby. 3 races going in,both broke the maiden in February, stretched out in March,9f in April.

Interesting post, eye. Those were all nice horses, but none won the Derby, though Curlin and Pulpit had a run at it. Can't wait to see him on the stretchout. Even then, are you going to buck history?

If and when Pletcher brings his secret weapon he's got with Zayat to the Arkie derby, Justify and Magnum Moon better look out. problem is i don't know if pletcher wants to run 2 horses there. Kinda tricky, but Moon already has 50 points which is probably enough to make the gate even if he doesn't lift a hoof. I'm not a justify fan for the KY Derby, at any rate.

I just read that Justify is going to run in the Santa Anita Derby this weekend, instead of the Ark. Derby. FYI

Interesting what mysaladdays says. They've been discussing trying Gidu on the dirt, and if entered in the Wood (check entries when they come out)this weekend or the Ark Derby(next weekend 14th)....something to look at.

Interesting what mysaladdays says. They've been discussing trying Gidu on the dirt, and if entered in the Wood (check entries when they come out)this weekend or the Ark Derby(next weekend 14th)....something to look at. You guessed it right. I figured it would be more fun not to say who. LOL Yes, well I like these turfer types on the Churchill surface. So Mendelssohn and Gidu are interesting to me for sure. Gidu's been training on dirt since November, seems to be working quite well on it, according to equibase. He's not the very best Frankel breeding ever, but along same lines as Dortmund and Thunder Snow, so I give him a shot....I am still hoping he goes to Ark derby and not the Wood, and not over to an Ascot race. I just want to see his action in person. I think he has that "damascus curse" thing, if you believe in that. (I'm more worried about the Pletcher curse myself hahaha) This is the first year in a while I'm not totally enamoured with anyone yet. Untamed Domain was my boy, he had everything I wanted (if he took to the dirt) but unless he does something spectacular in the next prep he won't make the gate. Maybe Belmont then. There are 4 prep races left and I expect 1-2 horses that are totally off the radar to leap up and win the 100 or 40 points......it always happens. THAT would be an interesting topic, yes?

Looks like it will be wet at SA Saturday.Served notice. Doesn't look like much of a race anyway.....short field of 7 horses, and 2 are maidens! Justify gets a short field (again) so not sure this race will tell me anything. Last time he ran against only 4 horses.....a horse who came in 7th in the Robert B. Lewis, one who was 6th in the Robert B. Lewis, a horse who ran 8th in the Camino Real Derby, and a horse who ran 5th and 6th in two other allowance races. (I guess you could say I was not overly impressed when he "decimated" that field. LOL).

A wet course can only help Justify. Have to agree no one really knows what this horse is capable of but if he has any talent approaching what the top 10% of todays TBs have, Bolt will have his hands full. This is not a betting race unless you'd be happy with even money - or less.
