Fast/Firm. Sunny, 81F.
R4- CLM16000N2L 1 1/8mi turf 3up
Thinking that #4- Simms (2-1) should be able to run by all of these late, Contessa had him in good form at DEL. If not, #7- Angel's Magic (6-1) might be a wire-to-wire candidate. Low confidence race.
TRI- 4/1,7,9/All
R5- MSW32000 1mi 40yds 2yo
Purse bump of $5000 for this race; usually Pletcher or some other high profile GP trainer will ship one over for these events, looking for a softer spot. Saffie Joseph has #5- Native Hawk (8-5) for WinStar, gets Camacho and will take a lot of money. Harty has #6- Suerte (4-1) for Godolphin. That one appeared to appreciate the stretchout to two-turns last time, will be another to take money. I'll try to beat them both with #3- Brooklyn Guy (12-1) from Diane Morici, which had another solid work at Pmm last week and may move up on the switch to dirt, and #4- Silver Style (5-2) which was knocking on the door at DEL and has had three good works over the local course since arriving.
EX- 3,4/3,4,5,6
R6- CLM16000N2L 1 1/8mi turf 3up
Second division of this condition, but the weaker of the two. If you have to bet, don't take a short price. Maybe #7- China Beach (10-1) can be the one, has a decent local record, comes into the race fresh, possible that CNL didn't suit him.
WIN- 7
R7- MSW27000 1 1/16mi turf 3up
Chad shows up with #1- Payback Period (2-1) after a 14-month layoff, FTG & FTL. Son of Dubawi has steady worktab since MTH, Camacho takes the mount. Sure to be overbet, but doesn't mean he's not the winner. #2- Bucktown (7-2) probably wants turf, several nice works in the interim but that last race was ugly. #3- Bassanio (4-1) is a FTS from West Point/Arnaud Delacour with a very nice string of works at Fair Hill. Interesting. #7- Benkei (6-1) gets FTL for Motion, had a nice, even dirt-sprint prep, now stretches out with Fair Hill bullet in tow. Look out. #8- Mineton (8-1) is a Head family homebred, could be any kind but probably wants longer, later.
EX- 3,7/1,2,3,7
R9- CLM16000N3L 1mi turf F&M 3up
Another head-scratcher, will box the two Delgado horses and the one from Dini in a pure trainer stats play, ignoring the likely favorite hoping for her to run another dud like last time.
EXBOX- 6,9,10
Good luck if you are playing today!
