I was playing around with some numbers for the BC Pick 6 but not connected to handicapping, wondering what variety of winners, paying amounts, make it up. I took 15 random BC pick 6 races from 2018 to 1998 – that's 90 winning horses.
32% won less than $10, 36% won less than $20, 13% won less than $30, 9% won less than $50 and 9% won more than $50. The highest winner was Court Vision, 2011 Turf mile. I don't know if we could use this info for anything but it tells my that almost one fifth of these races paid over $30. It might look encouraging, but I don't think I would be willing to make a pick 6 wager with a ticket using 20% of my horses going off at 30/1 and higher.
