ASC R1 (8:25am EDT)- 2m (1m7f209y) British Champions Long Distance Cup (Group 2) (Class 1) (3yo+)
#2- Quickthorn (12-1) seems to despise Longchamp GIs, otherwise he's a very consistent horse. Think he'll try to take them all the way on the engine. #5- Trueshan (2-1) hasn't been quite as good this year, but hasn't really gotten his ground, until today, that is. Bet him to win if you get 2-1.
EX- 2,5/1,2,5,7,8
ASC R2 (9:00am EDT)- 6f British Champions Sprint Stakes (Group 1) (Class 1) (3yo+)
#1- Art Power (8-1) was fourth in this event last year, was on the bench until August but his side-quest to the Curragh last year set him up nicely for the race, could surprise this classy bunch from a midfield draw. #3- Creative Force (5-2) is the defending champ, only two runs this summer in GIs, a second and a fourth, will be low-mileage compared to many of these.
EX- 1,3/1,3,5,8,9,10
ASC R3 (9:40am EDT)- 1m4f British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes (Group 1) (Class 1) (3yo+)
Pretty wide-open race, so I'll try to beat the top two in the m/l. #6- Sea La Rosa (7-1) is my favorite horse-in-training, has been beautifully progressive this year, 4yo daughter of Sea The Stars could make a statement with a win here. #7- Sweet Lady (10-1) drew a bit wide in PP14, 4yo is improving and made all the pace to win French GI last out. The 3yo filly that I'll use on top is #13- Mimikyu (6-1) from the Gosden yard. Strongly progressive this year if you draw a line through the York dud (many horses don't run well on that surface). Big ask for daughter of Dubawi, but it would be nice to see the Strawbridge colors in the winners' enclosure.
EX- 6,7,13/2,4,5,6,7,11,13
ASC R4 (10:20am EDT)- 1m (Str) Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Mile) (Class 1) (3yo+)
Somewhat surprised by the smallish-field, ducking Inspiral and Modern Games (if he goes) perhaps? #5- The Revenant (5-1) could get overlooked, he won this race two years ago, and comes into it in peak form after an off-year in 2021. Don't sleep on him, Ryan Moore gets the 'hmmm' jockey booking. #9- Inspiral (4-5) is 6-for-7 lifetime, 3yo daughter of Frankel beat a stellar GI field at Deauville including up-and-comer Erevann last time. She's a deserving favorite, especially at the weights. I'm betting that Modern Games doesn't run on the expected soft ground.
EX- 5,9/2,4,5,8,9
ASC R5 (11:00am EDT)- 1m2f Champion Stakes (British Champions Middle Distance) (Group 1) (Class 1) (3yo+)
I'd like #2- Baaeed (1-5) to go out an undefeated Champion, and I don't think Adayar is quite back to where he could push him hard. Would love to see #8- My Prospero (20-1) get second or third behind his stablemate. Playing triples hoping for prices underneath.
TRI- 2/1,3,4/1,3,4,6,7,8
ASC R6 (11:40am EDT)- 1m (Str) Balmoral Handicap (Class 2) (3yo+)
Somewhat lackluster form on display in this heat, a fresh face or two could probably light it up. Boxing several looking to get lucky.
EXBOX- 7,12,13,20
Good luck if you play (and you should!)

Just watching but won't miss Baaeed's last race of career, I'm a huge fan.
I compiled some stats on him a while back, I will share:
Baaeed: sire Sea the Stars, grandsire Cape Cross (miler), damsire Kingmambo. 4 years old. Raced in GB and France; Record 10-10-0-0; inbred 3x4 to Mr. Prospector; {2f} DP = 5-1-19-5-0 (30) DI= 1.07 Races: 1 mile (maiden), 1 mile, 1 mile; 1600 meters, 1 mile, 1 mile, 1 mile, 1 mile, 1 mile, 10.5F ***12 days between maiden and 2nd career race; 19 days between 2nd race and 3rd race; 21 days between 3rd race and 4th race. Trainer: Haggas. Trainer won Epsom Oaks, Epsom Derby. Won a total of 12 Group 1 stakes in Britain, 3 Group 1's in France, 3 Group 1's in Ireland, 1 Group 1 in GER, 1 Group 1 in Italy, 2 Group 1's in Australia (including Queen Elizabeth Stakes)
I was comparing him to Flightline at the time I was looking up Baaeed's stats---US racing sure is different. Flightline seems to not need conditioning by racing---he has so much innate talent. Of course I question just relying on that since I'm a "fit horses win races" kinda gal, but some are just naturallly better than others I guess:
Flightline: sire Tapit. grandsire Pulpit, damsire Indian Charlie. 4 years old. Raced in the U.S. only; Record 5-5-0-0; {20-b} DP 4-9-12-1-0 (26) DI=2.71 CD 0.62 Races 6F (maiden), 6F, 7F, 1 mile, 1-1/4 mile ***104 days between maiden and 2nd career race; 108 days between 2nd race and 3rd race. Approx.108 days/6 months between 3rd race and 4th race.

Haven't done this in a while--outstanding race card to end the season over there. 10f does such a great job with these write-ups.......
race 1 Not sure how much give is in the ground---still going against the favorite #5 TRUESHAN since I agree that he doesn't seem as sharp so far this year. Maybe his last run? I will start with #8 WATERVILLE since Moore gets the call. #7 ELDAR ELDAROV has every reason to get the trip. tri pw 7-8/1-2-5-7-8/1-2 5-7-8
race 2 VERY tough race since quite a few of these have made $$$ for me repeatedly. #3 CREATIVE FORCE hasn't won this year, and also might have slowed a step after dancing at the highest level throughout. Still--Appleby/Buick and laid off to point for this spot--maybe his last run also? #10 ROHAAN has been very lucky for me and is 4 of 5 on the course. I can't see him winning at this level. #13 GO BEARS GO has been a favorite of mine, and I am still smarting from his late miss @ Del Mar last year. Check him out in the pre-race---he may well win the beauty contest. #14 PERFECT POWER is 2 for 2 here and capable at a big price as is #18 TENEBRISM O'Brien/Moore shortening for the sprint. No prior history for me, but #8 KINROSS looks in very good form at the right distance. Not going deep here, and just boxing exactas using those above.
x pw3-8-14-18/3-8-10-13-14-18
race 3
staying with #12 ETERNAL PEARL Apppleby/Buick at a decent ml. #2 ESHAADA is also worth a look and will be somewhat under the radar imo. Wondering if #4 LILAC ROAD might be the Haggas runner to finish best here?
x pw 2-12/2-4-7-12-13-14
race 4
#9 INSPIRAL is going to be low priced, and I agree that #5 THE REVANANT might be the upsetter. I am also using #8 MODERN GAMES(Appleby/Buick!) in the top spot
tri pw 5-8-9/5-8-9/all------tri box 5-8-9
race 5 The big races keep coming.....might just watch this one(lol....j/k!).... Like #9 STONE AGE to be a big priced ticket crasher.
tri pw 2/1-3-4-8-9/1-3-4-8-9.........2/3-9/all
gl!

Henry Candy’s 100-1 splits what would have been a chalk exacta albeit in a large field. 0-2 Onward!

I respect Roger Varian's training skills, but I don't see how Bayside Boy won that GI, easily, with a slow start to boot. He added blinkers last time at Sandown and got the win, but that was a Listed race. Head-scratcher.
Inspiral just feel asleep in the stalls, and it was over.

That was pretty deflating. Crowley said Baaeed didn't fire on the ground today, didn't have his 'oomph.'
How about jockey Richard Kingscote? Rode the Derby winner, Desert Crown. Rides the Champion Stakes winner. Nice bookends.
