According to Mary Rampellini, Arkansan Willis Horton has passed away. He was the owner of champions "Will Take Charge" and "Take Charge Brandi".
Details are limited at this time.
May he rest in peace.

One of our local Arkansas owners. Glad you posted. His son, Kevin, told DRF that he and his father had COVID after returning from a horse sale in Kentucky. Willis Horton "just couldn't beat it," he said.
As you may know he owned and raced Will Take Charge, Take Charge Brandi, Bankit, and I believe he part-owned Ben Diesel, Maybe some of the others I mentioned. Horton's Kentucky Derby horses included homebred Long Range Toddy in 2019. He also co-owned Lemons Forever, winner of the 1996 Kentucky Oaks.. He ran most of his horses under Asmussen, Dallas Stewart and Wayne Lukas. Since that track is my local, I've seen many of Mr. Horton's horses.
I was hoping he got to see Ben Diesel do well over the weekend but looking at the dates, I don't think so.
But he was doing what he loved right up to the very end (horse auction).
