Biggest day of racing in Scotland, with 25 runners in both the Ayr Silver Cup (consolation race for those that didn't draw in) and the Ayr Gold Cup ($202,500.)

GOING: GOOD, Good to soft in places (GoingStick: 7.7) (Mostly cloudy)
AYR R1 (8:20am EDT)- 1m Handicap (Class 2) (3yo+ 0-100)

No horse down in the weights looks appealing, so #1- Revich (10-1) which ran here Thursday and shortens up to a mile, and #3- Redarna (7-1) which is a HFTC (10/7-1-0) in rude health, could be the answer.
EX- 1,3/1,2,3,4,5
AYR R2 (8:55am EDT)- 1m2f Doonside Cup Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (3yo+)

Two progressive-types look best in this race. #5- Royal Champion (4-1) was third in a GIII last month, and #10- Phantom Flight (9-5) was third behind New London and Swilcan Bridge at Newmarket two back, which points him out.
EX- 5,10/2,4,5,6,10
AYR R3 (9:30am EDT)- 6f Ayr Silver Cup Handicap (Class 2) (3yo+)

Going to try two from the Easterby yard in this. #2- Hyperfocus (12-1) is all speed, but draws wide, has yet to hit the board here, and loses his regular rider to his stablemate. Price should therefore be square or better. #10- Snash (10-1) gets said rider David Allan, is improving in his 4yo season, and won the trial for this two back over C&D.
EX- 2,10/2,5,10,11,15,18
AYR R4 (10:05am EDT)- 6f Firth Of Clyde Fillies' Stakes (Group 3) (For The Ayrshire Agricultural Challenge Cup) (Class 1) (2yo)

2yo filly sprinters. #4- Bonny Angel (7-1) has been progressive in five starts and won Doncaster nursery race last week by 5 like a good thing. #12- Queen Me (2-1) was second in a GII last time, enough said to be logical favorite.
EX- 4,12/1,4,8,10,12
AYR R5 (10:40am EDT)- 6f Ayr Gold Cup Handicap (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo+)

Annually one of the toughest races to win, for both horse and handicapper. Selecting the highweight isn't normally the best idea, but #1- Commanche Falls (8-1) has improved again as a 5yo, and trainer Dods knows what to do with a sprinter. # 8- Summerghand (10-1) did no running in Dubai this winter and his recovery once back home has taken quite a while. Now looks to be close to his best based on last two efforts, don't dismiss him lightly.
