R2 (8:33am EDT)- 6f Darley Prix Morny (Group 1) (2yo No Geldings) (Straight Course) (Turf) (2yo)www.racingpost.com/racecards/206/deauville/2022-08-21/819941#2- The Ridler (7-1) has been progressive through four starts, has to handle an additional furlong today but has shown tenacity in all his races. WIN- 2 Result: 4,1,3 Blackbeard ($4.60) led from the outset under Ryan Moore, always looked like he was holding off Persian Force and Dettori. The Ridler sat behind the winner, but couldn't quicken when required, seemed to be short off the two month break. TW

Going: GOOD The high-class 7yo Australian race mare Verry Elleegant makes her European debut under Frankie Dettori in this GI 'prep' for a tilt at the Arc de Triomphe in six weeks. www.racingpost.com/news/the-racing-world-will-be-watching-as-verry-elleegant-takes-to-the-european-stage/574612R4 (9:50am EDT)- 1m2f Prix Jean Romanet (Group 1) (4yo+ Fillies & Mares) (Round Course) (Turf) (4yo+)www.racingpost.com/racecards/206/deauville/2022-08-21/819942Hoping that Verry Elleegant isn't fully cranked for this. Using #4- Burgarita (7-2) & #7- Rosscarberry (7-1) as QUI keys, with 1,3,8 QUI- 4,7/1,3,8 Result: 8,7,1 Quinella $35.60 Verry Elleegant was always far back, showed some interest in mid-stretch but did no running thereafter. Aristia ($10.40) showed that her second-place finish behind Nashwa in the Nassau Stakes (GI) was no fluke, she would not let Rosscarbery by.R5 (10:25am EDT)- 1m7f Prix Kergorlay (Group 2) (3yo+) (Round Course) (Turf) (3yo+)www.racingpost.com/racecards/206/deauville/2022-08-21/819970It looks as if likely favorite Skazino acts better on softer ground, so boxing 2,5,6 in an attempt to steal some francs. EXBOX- 2,5,6 Result: 2,6,1 Exacta $73.40 Goya Senora ($28.20) sat out the back and always looked the winner storming home through the stretch, overtaking post-time favorite Joie De Soir late. Skazino softened in the wagering, ran on well but perhaps is best on softer ground.Sea La Rosa ships over for William Haggas, meets four others in what could turn into a tactically-run event. R6 (11:00am EDT)- 1m4½f (1m4f110y) Prix de Pomone (Group 2) (3yo+ Fillies & Mares) (Round Course) (Turf) (3yo+)www.racingpost.com/racecards/206/deauville/2022-08-21/819971No money to be made, but I've really been impressed by #1- Sea La Rosa (7-5) the last two seasons, can't jump ship now. EX- 1/2,3 Result: 1,4,5 Ryan Moore set a leisurely pace on Glenartney, and the race turned into a sprint for home, with Sea La Rosa ($3.20) pulling ahead late with the other four in a blanket finish just behind her. Good horse, love the sire (Sea The Stars).
