Hard to go past the two GII-winners in here. #1- Dramatised (even) was highly thought of even before her first start, won the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot with ease last time. #2- Mawj (9-2) is a progressive Godolphin filly in the hands of Saeed bin Suroor. She is proven going 6F, beat Lezoo last time in Newmarket GII.
EX- 1,2/1,2,6,7,9,10,14 Result: 14,12,10 Dramatised didn't have it today but stablemate Swingalong ($59.90) posted a huge upset, just getting the better of Queen Me (25-1). Exacta came back $606.20 for a buck.
R2 (9:25am EDT)- 6f Goffs UK Harry Beeby Premier Yearling Stakes (GBB Race) (Class 2) (2yo)

19 runners, all of whom sold at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling sale last August. Pretty wide-open betting event, I'll try #9- Metahorse (10-1) from Michael Bell, progressive in four starts, last seen winning a 7F Novice at Thirsk. Also using #16- Washington Heights (5-1) on top, progressive through three outings for Kevin Ryan who had a nice win yesterday in the opener.
EX- 9,16/3,4,9,13,16,19 Result: 14,16,11 Favored Shouldvebeenaring ($7.20) just got up at the line over Washington Heights, which was always up on the pace and tossed aside challengers one-by-one until the last.
R3 (10:00am EDT)- 1m (7f192y) Clipper Logistics Handicap (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo+)

#11- Orbaan (8-1) has certainly raced himself into peak form this year with ten starts already, but he has to carry 12 lbs extra for his two recent wins. #10- Lion Tower (20-1) also has a 6lb penalty for his Redcar win earlier this month. I'll try #16- Revich (20-1) and #17- Blue for You (6-1) which are both lightly raced this season and have good mile form. One-hole draw for Blue for You is not ideal but that's built into the price.
EX- 16,17/7,10,11,13,15,16,17,20 Result: 17,3,4 Blue for You ($11.40) justified his lukewarm-favoritism, but the runners-up were hard to fathom.
R4 (10:35am EDT)- 1m4f (1m3f188y) Darley Yorkshire Oaks (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Fillies & Mares) (Class 1) (3yo+)
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2022-08-18/813942
#1- Alpinista (2-1) is all class, on a six-win streak with four straight GIs in GER and FR. Biased towards this one but she's the one to beat. #7- Tuesday (7-2) gets nine lbs from her elders, wasn't embarrassed in the Irish Derby, she's the most likely upsetter to my mind, though #4- Magical Lagoon (4-1) is progressive and hasn't found her top yet, 12F suits her just fine. Great race!
EX- 1,7/1,2,4,7 Result: 1,7,2 Exacta $9.40 (yay) One of the best races I've seen this year, exceeding the hype. Alpinista ($3.70) is just a tremendous stayer, Luke Morris started asking her quite a ways from the finish and she never stopped giving. Tuesday looked like she was going to get alongside a couple of times but never quite did. Fine race from La Petite Coco, doing the heavy-lifting over ground she didn't relish.
R5 (11:10am EDT)- 1m4f (1m3f188y) British EBF & Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies & Mares) (Class 1) (3yo+)

#8- Mimikyu (4-1) 3yo daughter of Dubawi is progressing nicely for the Gosden yard, makes logical step up to stakes-company today. #12- Voodoo Queen (8-1) has been patiently handled by Balding, has to prove that she can see out 12F but she can be a nice price in this.
EX- 8,12/4,8,9,10,12 Result: 5,11,6 One-two finish for Juddmonte with Haskoy ($12.10), which had an AW win in her only start, handling the jump to stakes company under an inspired ride by Ryan Moore, alone on the far side and using the rail for company. Her stablemate never saw the winner and settled for second.
Fun day of watching, miserable day of wagering.
Wagered: $100.00 Returned: $9.40 Loss: $90.60
