Legend. RIP Hank, somehow fitting that he passed on his birthday July 4th, also the date of the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Championship.

I'm a big fan of sports radio in SFLA, this one hits home. Eddie Kaplan, who I think has passed period, certainly in the past as a sports radio host, was more interesting late into the night as he said until the last games over, in the early AM, deserves a shout out he'd otherwise not get, he was a good friend of Hank Goldberg. I have 2 memories of Hank...1. He was a great bet-against in his days as a track tout on ABC, I don't recall a single winner, and 2. The first time I saw Hank at the track, Calder 1970 something. He was going down, I was going up in adjacent escalators between the 3rd and 4th floor. He was carrying 3 hot dogs, 1 in each hand, and the third in his mouth. May he RIP with mustard if he likes.
